Whenever someone gives me money to buy the F-250 (wrecked as long as it's only body damage) and a wrecked 2nd gen (only needs body work, it's easily fixable), and a couple weeks time.

My comment was not to actually to put a body on a f250. But the fact that you would do a shit load of work to replace or modify all parts to become a f250 but still have a 4' bed and a first seating. So why not just buy a f250 and tune the hell out of it with the money you save. The diesel isn't going to get better mpg in a yota by the time your beef everything up to handle the diesel the truck will weigh close to the same. Jason's truck is a stockish truck on steroids, but you can do that with a 2wd.

I know, but you still have a big truck.
If you put a tacoma body on the f-250 frame/drivetrain you have a smaller truck (not as tall, wide, or long as the ford)
I don't, but having that power plant in that truck would make me dislike it less.

What would you do with the diesel engine power other than listen to the exhaust?

    Pro's of the diesel:
    1. Bo-diesel
    2. sound
    3. performance
    4. possible gain of MPG's (most likely seen while towing)
    5. Cool factor

    Con's
    1. cost
    2. Weight over the from axle

Cant pull what the original diesel could, its going to drive like shit on the street with all that weight In the front, good bye emissions, goodbye leg room when you have to modify the transmission tunnel, ect ect ect...

Yeah, but id done properly (tacoma body on f-250 frame) It'll pull more than the 2nd gens, and most likely do it better.
    Screw emissions
Leg room would be a slight issue for me.

going to lower the engine a foot to clear the tacoma hood? Going to run what for a radiator? And intercooler? Going to shorten the frame about 6 feet? going to narrow the axles? Sounds like a lot of work but I'm sure it sounding cool will make the thousands and thousands of dollars spent totally worth it...

If you put it on the frame, even properly you have the height of a 250 minus some cab height. A second gen is close to the same length as a extra cab short bed f250. And you gain some width but the axles will still stick out some. It's doable just no point. You'll be driving a cramped diesel or have a shit load of unusable power because the chassis or drive line can't take it. A v8 first gen could get low 20s. You would have to drive a long ways to get the money back on mpg. And a first gen with a v8 rumble sounds pretty cool. If you are looking pure performance my wife's Jetta tdi puts out the same torque as a second gen. Put a big turbo on a vw diesel. Should only take a week.

    4 cylinder In the TDI?
Yep, I just started using Fuelly on my last 3 fill ups.
I was hoping to get a good number this weekend when I drove out to AZ, but the trip got canceled so it looks like my average is gonna stay low.
