Advance Auto Parts Dishonorable Coupon Code

So Advance sends me a coupon code for $25 off a $50 purchase through my Advance account. I go to order the code and it says enters successfully but didn't take any total off. So i called Advance customer service and they say it got sent out to 2 million customers but they're not honoring it but will give me 20% off my purchase (Even though anyone that visits the website can get 15% off + $25 off their next purchase by entering the code on the site)

The guy then tries to proceed me to order with the 20% code that he provided me like i was going to be so happy about getting 20% off after they send me a fake coupon code.

To make a long story short, hope you don't try to use the code emailed to you or receive any more fake sales Advance may have. Looks like Advance Auto will no longer be getting a dime of my money in the future even if i have to pay more. Very pitiful customer service so i hope you all don't encounter any problems if you continue to use them.

 

Here is just a bit of the conversation with their customer service. If they can do it to one customer, they don't care to help with anyone else. I know losing just 1 customer isn't going to do anything to as big as a company as Advance, but i am very, very, dissatisfied. Never again will i step foot in a Advanced Auto.

I don't go to advance because most of them hire idiots who don't know anything about vehicles, nor do they ever have what I'm looking for. Auto zone FTW! But recently I've been using Rockauto

 

AutoZone's coupons are deceiving too. with the "extra point of credit" coupon you have to buy a full price item(s) in order to meet the requirements. no other coupons, sale items, or gift cards (not purchased at AutoZone) can be used.

 

Well I work at a hardware store, and we only can use coupons in regular priced items. Maybe you mean something different. Anyway, I never use coupons, just their rewards program. The advice and help I get at auto zone is always better then discount

 

Maybe your state attorney general should be told of those practices.

 

OK... that's all they had to say? I guess it's OK to lose customers instead of honoring a coupon code. This used to be known as "bate & switch". Bate 2 million people with a coupon that they have no intention of honoring, then offer a lesser amount off. Most people will just go along and never question it.

It was a code sent from advance to shop from them. Not just a code that you find roaming around the internet. All requirements were met they just said it didn't mean to be sent out and offered me a lesser one with a sorry about your luck after I got done shopping. I'd simply pay more for the item from somewhere else instead of buying from them after falsifying something they sent to me.

 

That was the end of the conversation was them saying ok. I said nothing in return after that. That's probably exactly what they were doing.

 

Your first mistake was not unsubscribing from the mailing list right away.

It is an emailed coupon from their Rewards program. I have used many for the oil and other discounts. However if you try to use the "Extra point with $20 purchase", meaning of the 5 total points to earn the $20 credit, you cannot use that coupon in conjunction with any other discount. So even if I spent $200 on something they basically say too bad.

One of the coupons I tried to use came up in their system as an out-dated part. Every AutoZone employee I have talked with (multiple locations) despises the horrible register software. I have an Advance Auto across the street so whoever I feel like stopping at now, or I'll just get it online

 

I dont buy anything from advance anymore a large percentage of there stuff if slapped together chinese junk. When i stopped buying parts from them i would only buy detailing stuff or light bulbs, but that stuff is too expensive from them, even a jug of oil and a new oil filer is considerably cheaper at other places.
A customer shouldnt have to deal with coupon codes just to get a reasonable price.
