I have a 99 2.7 4x4 I'm putting a 3" lift on and getting 33's. It's my daily driver / weekend warrior. I'm considering between Mickey Thomson Baja mtz, hankook m/t, dick cepek m/t, they all have Good ratings all look nice. What do you guys think! Or if I should look at any others shoot me some ideas Thanks

I've always liked Dick Cepek... they look really nice.
A lot of people run KM2's too...

Everybody likes the tires they run, after all normally we pay a fortune for them.
    Objectively speaking?

Lots of people run goodyear duratracs here. They're made for commercial trucks. Lots of traction, and lots ok mileage out of them from what I've heard. I have the walmart equivalents, goodyear authorities. No problems with mine yet

I dumped my fairly fresh BFG MT II's
in favor of the Hankook MT RT03's

I didn't really like my BFG MT II's
they weren't very good in snow...
and IMO are over rated by many whom use them.

for less money... I feel the RT03's offers better traction
and also wear better for street duty.

They have proven to me to be a worthy off road tire
and seem to be as durable as any other serious off road tires
    I have used.

    btw... the 295 RT03 is a true 33+
and measure 33.6" off the truck.

    Chassis weight added...
they still ride at 33.30" or better.

The 295 is only available in "D" load.
But that tire's construction is very stout.
the 285 versions are only available in a "E" load

    I'd run the "E" load if I were rolling a 285.
    Main reason... off road durability.

Thanks foe the feed back. I'm leaning towards the hankooks. 295/75/16 . Load D is just fine for me I'm sure. I haul my dirtbike in the back. Drive mostly street. And weekends try and find new mud trails or play in snow. I go camping which is gravel roads. Or out to the dunes.

Another vote for the Dynapro M/T. I switched from Goodyear Duratracs and currently run the Hankooks in the 285/75 variety. They're a great all around tire, not much louder than the goodyears on the road and much much better off-road.

About the only are the Duratracs out perform the Hankooks is in the snow, but that was to be expected.

Also I don't think the 285s come in a D load range (at least the 16" version).

I vote for hankook, they are an exceptional tire brand. Imo id give the cooper discoverer STT some consideration as well.

Depending on the gearing of your truck you might want to try to run the lightest weight tire since you have the 2.7 so it doesnt rob as much power.

I like my Dynapro MTs as well. I have the 285/70R17 and I believe mine are load D.

I know the 2.7 does pretty Good power wise for a 4cyl. In 4lo it still screams. And I won't be doing any rock crawling. What aftermarket bolt ons do you know of I should look into replacing for more power?!

My other question for tires, is... 12.50 or 11.50 or 10.50 I really kinda want the wider tires I like the looks Better. They'll float better over sand. An believe they'll do better in snow on our lighter trucks?! Not sure on the snow fact. Comments??

I had the 33" BFG MT they were good. But running the Goodyear MT kevler. Best tire I have ever run off road.

The skinnier ones will be lighter, Im not sure about snow, I live in georgia. Might look into the deck plate mod. A header and I think there might be a trd supercharger available for the 3rz 2.7, but I think its discontinued. Sorry I dont know much about 1st gens. Maybe check your gearing and look in the 1st gen section for somebody with a similar setup to see how theres did with 33s

Headers and exhaust and maybe and intake but that really about it unless you have the money to drop on a supercharger. LCE makes one for 2.7 I've been eyeballing it for awhile just gotta wait for the monies to get it.

Kinda sucks I just replaced my cracked exh manifold. I should have did a performance one. And I am planning on doing a flow master. Super 44's or 50 series. And I'll find a intake for sure.

Im pretty sure the deckplate mod is supposed to be just as good as an intake and only about $25
