Awww man. Why's that? Just because of the demographics? There are a couple nice neighborhoods there....its just super affordable right now. Kinda hoping we could get into a nice house and then the area will change...

I'm holding out for something at the south edge of Concord or in Pleasant Hill...Wife is impatient and looking around right now (won't even be talking to a bank till the end of the year) and is all panicky because there's nothing in those areas

Ferny, where in Sac do you live? I'm looking to buy a house and I'm thinking Sac. If the area isn't the best but no one bothers you like you said, I'd be interested.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
You can get spots in the east bay for under that. My bother in law just moved to the Pinole area for about 1600.

Didn't really think about tornadoes or hurricanes, I'll have to think about that if we actually move, she'll be applying to other schools. My family on the east coast always talks about coming to CA and earthquakes, I've only ever experienced one big one, whereas hurricanes are a fairly normal occurrence and can be much worse on a much larger scale.

To those who went, thanks for the traffic:mad:

I'm a bathed in the Bay Giants fan. My grandma was a diehard A's fan. Watching baseball with her was always a hoot. She had a room in her house dedicated to A's merchandise.

The bends should be easy. Cut a "v" then using a piece of wood, push down. How you cut the "v" "\|" or "|/" or some where in between will determine the angle of the bend.

It looks like the image came from MetalsDepot. Just pick the nearest thing.

You mean making a cut into the legs right? And then would you weld it after making the cut and bending it?

I looked there and they didn't have anything very close. The smallest 6061 channel was 2" in base length with 1" legs and the only 1.25" base length 6063 channel has 1.25" legs.
I'd like to explore around to see if I can get something that's almost the same before resorting to different dimensions.

Yes. Make a small cut, bend away and then weld it.

Maybe this from Metals Depot or this from Coltwell.

Ok cool, thanks! I'll have to see if I can find someone to do the welding part.

I think the closest thing in metals depot is that 6063 1.5x.5x1/8 channel, but I'll have to see if that width will fit on the actual shell.
Thanks for the Coltwell link! They have something that is closer and is the 6061 channel, so I may request a quote from them. It also looks like they may be able to do the bends in-house, so I'll have to ask about that.

Anyone know any places locally that have a wide variety in aluminum channel? I did a quick google search and got a few places in sacramento but they either don't have a website or don't have channeling...

Have any of you guys heard of rubber going bad in our driveshafts? I called a driveline place today and the guy said he could replace my u joint and balance my driveshaft for $60 as long as the rubber wasn't bad. I had never heard of that before. BTW is the $60 a good price?
