    Hello All,

I saw a thread on ipod mounting. Did not want to hijack that thread.

I have the factory 6-disk radio with an ipod cable that they routed into the glove box. We have not figured out how to control the ipod from the radio controls. When it is first plugged in, it will start playing music. But if we need to switch to a different folder or something then we typically have to go to the ipod itself.

Should we be able to navigate th ipod in this config.?

Looking at the owners manual was no help.

    Ideas / Suggestions?

    TIA

Using the factory radio will limit your controls of the iPod. You must use the click wheel if you would like to search for a song.

I would assume you have an aftermarket ipod interface?

Do you know which one you have?

I have the ipod2car PDXP and you have to pick a playlist/album/shuffle (or whatever) from the ipod. The stock head unit will only allow you to adjust volume & adjust forward/backward (next song, previous song etc).

Information about an aftermarket unit will not be in your owners manual.

Now - unless you have an 09 with the Aux Jack?

I guess the dealer could have installed an aftermarket. It just came that way. I do have an 09 and it does have the aux port but the connector we use is a black cable with a flat connector that actually plugs into the bottom of the ipod. Not the earphone socket.

I am pretty sure it is the stock head unit that is lacking. But I think it does keep the ipod's battery charged.

    Thanks

Yeah, that's aftermarket. Search on the forum for 'ipod' and you'll see different interfaces available. Maybe you can find out exactly which one you have (and perhaps it will have more features available to you).
