I'm sure we can find some relatively flat terrain near Powell that will be long enough and wide enough to answer that debate.

We already establihed it was the SOAKED asphault and super old tires that where contributing to that...cause honestly..when i drove yours..did not feel peppy..at all. Felt like mine in a lot of ways. I felt like mine pulled hard in the upper rpms..

But with the lower gearing..ill get off the line faster..just won't be able to maintain it :p haha

Some? shit..haha LOADs haha just go the bench..or..well...anywhere..really..haha

Straight but plenty to see. I actually like driving the i25 though. I still think the i80 is the worse thing wyoming has to offer.

I80 is exciting though..cause there is always some semi tipped over and a 65mph cross wind..haha keeps you on your toes :p
25 is pretty since its right next to the Big Horns..but its is just so straight..haha

It would be a whole lot more interesting if there were a whoop or two in the middle of the 'track'.:rofl::rofl:

The only reason I stay awake on the i80 is the fear a wind gust will hit me at the wrong time and knock me into another lane or off the road.

i80 on my way home from denver wed night was insane. had my foot pinned to the floor in 6th for a record time to hold between 75-80, 30 min! If it wasn't pinned it was downshifted into 5th up hills haha. got 13.5 mpg between laramie and rawlins...awesome  NEEEED SUPERCHARGER!

What are your rpm's gonna be going 70 monte with the 5.29?

    agreed! on both accounts.

plus poping CVs every trip wouldn't be fun..

    70 with 5.29s is 2986

    with 4.88s is 2755

4.88s should be about like stock..just a touch more over geared. 5.29s are of course quite over geared.

yea, 4.56 on 33's would be 2750 for me at 70. I say stay with 5.29 man. Just go 65-70 on the interstate, who cares.

I'm late to the party... haha but he gets about the same mileage I'm getting. I pull about 16-17 mpg when I set my cruise for about 79-80 mph. I got that going to and coming back from Boise a couple weeks ago.

My averaged is trashed though because I get like 8 mph when wheeling because I am bouncing off the rev limiter all the time anymore. haha

The only thing I worry about with the 5.29's is that you will blow them up. Especially once you start pushing some power from a turbo and are locked. Konsta blew up many sets of 5.29's on his Dana 44's which are about on par with a toyota rear and will be stronger than your front 7.5" clam. And Konsta was only running 37's the whole time too.

As for the speed thing with 5.29's, 65 is a great speed usually. I tend to push up into the 20 mpg range at 65, but I hate driving that slow so I usually drive the speed limit. Plus it's not like you couldn't do 75 mph with them. You'd run at about 3200 rpm on your 35's so you'd have more engine noise for sure. When I went from 3.73's to 4.88's it didn't hurt my mileage and I went up almost a 1000 rpm at 75 mph.
