Ive been wanting to put in my own locker. Is there any setting and measuring you had to do, or just make sure the shims go back in the same spots?

Nah, I wouldn't waste my money on the stick-on stuff. This was some class A work done by a guy right here on TW. Look up "hydrographics" and you will see how in depth the process is. It's really not much different than painting a car, except there is a graphic added on in the middle of the process!

No, it wasn't too bad. Im an electrician and figured it out. I had to remove the ring gear but its pretty easy. Yeah just put everything back together how it was with shims. No special tools. Took me about 4.5 hours. Are you going for a lockrite? The directions sucked. They arent vehicle specific so I had to figure a few things out.

Do y'all know what the service interval for the 1st gen auto trans is? I have all the service records for my truck but they say green service instead of what was done.

I was quoted $90 for a flush and $45 for a drain and fill, I'm inclined to go with the flush. Thought? Opinions?

    ...too much shit to list.
Drain will only empty what's in the transmission pan. It doesn't replace the fluid in the rest of the system (pressure/return lines, transmission cooler, radiator, etc.)

Yeah, which is why I think I want to do a full flush.
But I've read of some dodges and fords having issues with the trans failing soon after a flush.

I'm in the same boat. Coming up on 90k miles and want to do either of those while getting the water pump/timing belt replaced.

What kind of mpg you getting with that? Been thinking about one of these for mileage sake.
