I've gotten that low a few times. Usually slow rolling in 4 Lo between obstacles and then throttling through obstacles and slow rolling to the next one, plus lots of idle time spotting people.

Out in the desert I tend to have enough speed to get a little better mileage it seems.

5.29s are bigger though. I'll go find the picture Silas took of his. The 5.29s are huge compared to his 4.10s.

exploding diffs usually have to do with improper installation then anything. And considering Toyota diffs are some of the hardest to set up correctly, it makes sense.

I mean..silas had no issues with 37s and the R&Ps...

3200rpms...jesus..my exhaust will be screaming..haha speed limit in Wy is 65 anyways. its just interstates that ill have to go faster on.

    Deal:cool:

Also I've got all the tools to do my own alignments! I stopped at harbor freight when i was in denver and got one of those angle thingies. I got it on some laminate tiles and checked my caster and camber just to see how long the process will take and it will likely take a few hours to do it with adjustments and re checking... but worth it. getting the 20* in and out was hard but not bad. Hopefully i get a system down and can do it in under an hour... then, free alignments if anybody stops by my place :D

IIRC the ring gear teeth are bigger but the pinion teeth get pretty small and end up being a weak link. I think he was also running a small block 350 with gobs of power and has a really heavy foot so that would add up to it too. haha

I have yet to play with mine angle finder. I still have some work to do on the front before I bother.

yea i need to learn to do alignments too. Especially if i get LT. Not sure any shops will touch it after that..usually don't.

plus..my alignments lasts like 2 trips and its shot..haha i need one bad now again thats for sure.

    setting gears though...bit different. haha

right. the pinion does get smaller.

the thing that made me go hesitate was speed though. I'll still want to go fast once im "done" with suspension stuff again..whenever that will be

i'll probably weld them..haha just not till LT..i forgot about that.

will save a lot of hassle thats for sure.

Gussets will also come...LOTS of gussets..

    *sigh*

    so much to do...so little time...and money..haha

You can still do over 100mph in 4th gear with 5.29's according to the calculator. How fast you looking to go? haha Lower gears are going to give you the torque to help you get up to that speed. When I was ripping up the washes/roads up in Boise a couple weeks ago I would get to about 70 mph before I had to slow down to make a corner. All the corners were tight enough that I had to slow to about 40-50 to make them and even then they were tight. I missed a couple, but luckily I was on a road and not in the wash so there was room to miss them. haha

First it was 33s... then 35s.... now 37s.

I give it about 12 months before you're on 40s.

Hey, they can go fast all they want. Let them get the fire going so when you casually roll up to camp you can chill out and enjoy a burrito.
