And he paid the fees until they were holding up their end of the bargain, which was to maintain. Maybe this will make more sense.

Say you've been having picnics at the park by your house. It's a city park. The Fed comes in and tells you have to have a permit to picnic in that park, they'll charge for it but they'll manage the park on behalf of the city. It's reasonable, ensures many, many people can enjoy that park, so everybody is paying it. So you start paying the picnic fee at the park. But as the years go by, the Fed starts increasing this fee more and more, and ultimately the park looks like shit (trash and graffiti) because the Fed isn't doing the job they promised to do. You decide, "screw it, I'm not paying them to use something right next to my house that's no better off than before they managed it." Because of that, the Fed starts to argue with you, each side pisses and moans, but eventually you're told to quit picnicing there. You continue to do so for the next 15 years, without incident, and then the Fed decides to swoop in, close the park, point sniper rifles at anyone in the area, and confiscates your picnic.

It IS NOT the BLM's land. The land belongs to the state. Are you that daft that you cannot figure that out? And if you think this entire thing is about the cattle, you are really the one that needs to pull your head out of your ass. They are using the cattle issue to drive him off his land.

Article 1: Legislative branch. Government can't own large tracts of land. It states only needful building and military bases. So unless the government needs millions of acres for nothing then they don't need the BLM at all nor do they need the land.

I for one am glad that the forefathers decided to make the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. Also, Alaska was a pretty good decision too.

    Bah Bah

What a federal apologist FDB. But hey, we only live in Nevada, what the fuck would we know about any of this?

Some serious statists up in this thread.

Also, for you ignorant fools. Look at the bill Utah passed. If you think public lands wouldn't be available under state control still you're a tard. Oh but wait, you don't know anything about those bills, or wayne hage, or dick carver, or the sagebrush rebellion. You know fuck all and your input is not valued. Thanks for playing, bye.

He is incorrectly refering to Article 4 section 3 clause 2. Which reads as follows:The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.

Furthermore:The Federal Property and Territory Clause or Property Clause gives the United States Congress exclusive authority to set rules and regulations for the management of public lands. For example, pursuant to a parallel clause in Article One, Section Eight, the Supreme Court has held that states may not tax such federal property. In another case, Kleppe v. New Mexico, the Court ruled that the Federal Wild Horse and Burro Act was a constitutional exercise of congressional power under the Property Clause at least insofar as it was applied to prohibit the New Mexico Livestock Board from entering upon the public lands of the United States and removing wild burros under the New Mexico Estray Law.

    Just giving the facts.

    thank you, next question-
so above in bold it says "The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States"
Now when it says respecting the territory, does that mean the government can do what ever they want to preserve the land?
just making sure i understand correctly

You're quoting the exact article that gives congress the power: "To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof."

Which is referring to land for Government buildings. The very next sentence gives Congress to do whatever they deem is nescessary to the well being of the nation.
