It's not something to say SMD to - it's a serious safety concern... Yeah I don't have a lift either, but I would never get under a truck levitating like that! Dude you HAVE to make sure it's seated on teh stands... so you don't die. Its not something to fuck around with and I don't want to sound like a dick, but I dropped my truck once and thank god I was on a wood floor which absorbed a lot of the impact and no damage was done. I also had the jack under the front diff brace to catch it, but could have been a lot worse.

Anyway, what I usually do is jack the truck up with the wheels on, get it on stands, hit it a few times and shake it to make sure everything is solid then use my impact to take off the lugs. I know it's not ideal if you dont have an impact but you could loosen the lugs and do the same thing without rempving them.

anyway, safety first, don't work on your truck unless it's really supported by stands... I've had a jack fail too and thank god the tires were still on.

    /lecture

Zak, i appreciate your concern. I always check the seating of the stands by shaking the vehicle. There was no issue, just the angle of the picture looks like they weren't on there right. Believe me its fine. Thank you again.

yeah no problem, it does just look pretty horrible - I wasn't there so i can't disagree, but that picture scares me. i'd hate to see someone get hurt or damage a truck. like i said with mine, could have been a lot worse, I had literally no damage

    but heres what happened

and how I had to solve it
