How can I say 14" of sweet sweet stroke without sounding perverted ? Truck has a date with the guys at Dirt King next week for the rear install but the front CO's are still a few weeks out. We are doing custom upper and lower mounts for the rear, tube style upper hoop for the top and new tabs higher up on the axle than the IE location.

Is anyone running a 5" back space wheel with 35's ? Are you still able to air down with a 5" back space rim w/o rubbing the spindle ? I am shopping for new wheels and finding the selection of 4.5" back spacing wheels very limited...

I was going to suggest Walker Evans bead Locks and if you look a few posts below, you can see them powder coated. Nice wheel if you are going with 4+ full sized spare.

Yeah those are sick wheels and doing a color matched bead lock would be cool, I can't run a real bead lock in CA though because of inspection so just a " street lock ". I definitely need 5 because I have a swing out rear tire bumper w/ a 35" spare already. I made the mistake of buying 20's years ago so I want to step down to an 18" but keep the 35's to gain more sidewall. I don't want run spacers so I have to stick with an 18 to clear the tie rod ends.

I looked at the Walker Evans but they skip from 17 to 20 , they don't offer an 18...

I run 17" walker Evans and love them. Even their "mock locks" look so good that most can't tell they are not the real deal. If you wheel often and need to air down, I wouldn't go larger than a 17" set up as there is not much of a sidewall left to flex. I cannot remember what backspacing I'm running, but I have plenty of tie rod clearance.

I come close to my tie rods with a 4.65 BS on the PC 7069s I have. But not touching unless the weights are mounted wrong. I cant stand simulated bead locks but that is all everyone has now.

17's on a ProComp spindle w/o spacers ? Huh I always had it in my head that the 18 x 4.5 spec was min spec for our spindles... All of my off-roading is CA and Mexico desert and beach driving. I do air down my tires now in Mexico the minute I get onto the dirt roads, they are wash boarded so bad most of the year you will lose a kidney if you don't :) One of the surf spots we drive too is 5-6 hours on dirt roads, ton of fun when it's been graded or complete hell after the wet season :/

No, never had an issue. I get shit from my buddy's for the pink lock rings though, lol. They have faded from red.

I do pop it off along with the bolt on steps if I go wheeling, otherwise the plate would take a beating I think.

Hmm good to know. I will have a plate bumper soon and it just looks too damn good to mess up with a license plate, so I've been trying to decide what I would do with it. I might have to try that out and see how douchey the cops around here are.

Edit: I already know how douchey the cops are around here lol, guess we'll find out just how bad.

It's Pro Comps fault. Their 6" customers are out wheeling, all the time. No time for TW.
