Fantastic feedback guys and thank you. Think I'll to the d29xl and take its 15mm additional lift for level. Just curious....only went with the carrier bearing drop and still have some shutter starting and around 55mph. Wonder if the shims would solve this? They might give a bit of lift bump, no??

    thank you.
that is what is was looking for. I have no need for an uniball. right now it is a DD and occasional trail truck.

anyone running 884s on a DC with factory UCAs?? since the LR as so affordable i might just get them for piece of mind and adjustability.
going to go with Icon progressive AAL since the full dakar will be too much lift, right now.

Well, tried to assemble one strut today with a rented coil spring compressor. Got to within about a 1/2" of where it needed to be, but the bolts were starting to bow inwards and I chickened out before going any further.

    So, three options:
1.) Find a local shop willing to assemble them for me.
2.) Find a local shop willing to install my entire lift for me (some refuse to work with customer-supplied parts)
3.) Do the install using the various methods posted here that don't require a spring compressor.

If I can't find a shop willing to do #1, I will probably go with a modified #3. Since I have new top hats, I can remove the existing strut without taking it apart, and then put on the new top hats.

It can never be easy, can it?

Had mine assembled in 30 minutes. Any shop should be happy to do it right there.

I've used O'Reilly's spring compressor on both 881 and 882 springs, the bolts bowed like crazy(pics on my build) but still got the job done. if your still feeling a little skittish, wrap a ratchet strap or two on there as you tighten down the bolts. My two cents

1 more question, with the OME lift and 887's will I need spacers for 265/75/16's if I run the stock wheels? I know I would need to with 285's, but...

I've been running 265/70/17s both without and now with my lift. No rubbing except for on the mini flaps on the front of the front wheel wells. Took them and no issues since. The stock mud flaps aren't an issue with this size tire.

Been running 265/75/16's for a couple weeks on stock suspension, no rubbing.

My question...got my fronts installed yesterday after work. While reconnecting the tie rods, noticed some grease coming out when moving them. Not a lot, just a bit. Normal?

Going to finish up the back once this wind dies down.

Anyone have any opinions on this? I know bilstein make quality shocks, but unsure about the nitros. Don't think they are bad quality though. Thoughts?

Nitros are valved specifically for the springs. Lotta folks go both ways. Got 30k on my intros and I'm still happy with them.

First post. I apologize if I'm in the wrong thread. Please point me in the right direction if so…

Just installed OME dakars 3rd leaf removed. 2" spacers in front. i'm getting low level rhythmic vibrations at speeds up to 35 when first running the truck. After it's been driven it seems to diminish. Here's my measurements:

    TC: zeroed
    1st: 3.3
    2nd: 3.9
    Pinion: 1.9 up

Should l shim the pinion down to zero to match the transfer case whereby the TC and Pinion angles cancel each other?

Thanks DoorDing! I tried the carrier bearing drop with no positive effect. It's my understanding that our driveshafts should form a very slight upside down V.(less than 1 degree). So, the first and 3rd joints should mirror each other and thus cancel the vibrations.

I'd just like to 100% confirm before I re shim the re axel down to zero to match the TC:)
