    Had an interesting adventure today:

    Got stuck in a creek:

    IMAG0571_zps3bjlhhf1_e5c5472cc9daa38286a0ffdd26819099a09b4a64.jpg

    IMAG0572_zpslupmnieo_efebbd65a4b331d150492447b643e4bcc970a008.jpg

Didn't bother getting any better pics as I was franticlly trying to get it out.

Found out what I got stuck on:

    IMAG0573_zps5f4wr96n_e83fcfc8fbd9dc5a626c19d183894074942665f0.jpg

    IMAG0575_zpsod6sidwj_7ec567df197c0d112ca73f4ba0eae817d5d8dedb.jpg

    And carrier bearing got smashed:

    IMAG0574_zpscog77okk_a4786f260e590ecd32e30cb19ca0044fe461c5dc.jpg

    IMAG0576_zpswynj8c8d_e9cea45ddd13395901caf3015c39c204d509b602.jpg

Overall, not one of my better outings. Does anyone have any input on whether I can just replace the carrier bearing or if there may be other drive shaft issues. The angles looks kinda wierd, but the carrier bearing now has some extra play...

Not bad. Are you going Double Cab or staying XtraCab?

That's a really good price for that truck. How many miles on it. Some people want more than that just for the used engine. Now you have spare parts or you could sell the parts and recoup the cost of the truck. Nice.

I think I'd hold out for 4x4, especially if you are living in Spokane WA.

Sure, you can replace the carrier, if thats all it is, & all carriers have what looks like excessive play...

Just spent $100 on new spark plug wires and plugs from dealership a few days ago. I put em on this morning and bad news too. Passenger side spark plugs were covered in oil, smh. Shop time...

Thanks for the input. Carrier bearing appears to be destroyed, mount is bent to hell, but the drivershaft appears OK.

check the u-joints for excessive play. Possibly take the driveshafts to a shop to spin them up and check for balance, etc. If you don't see any physical damage, new scratches and dents, they are probably fine. Just grease 'em up to force any yucky shit out.

Don't you worry, there is indeed new scratches! Already pulled the entire drive shaft out to inspect it. Was thinking about replacing ujoints while I'm at it.

Did the eBay LED install that another member posted a couple of dozen pages back (can't remember his name?). Quite impressed with the light output! Pretty easy install, just took some time to figure out the routing. Will be wiring up another set in my bed when i have time.

Have fun with the double cardon joints u joints. They can be a pain to work with. I found using a ball joint press really makes it alot easier and so much faster, even for regular single joints.
