i'm trying to look into what the best way to upgrade/maintain my 2004 dc's suspension. it has the tired stock suspension and 265/75/16 tires that i will be replacing as well.

i'm a little confused as to how much lift billies and eibach coils give when set at zero since i want to get some lift but don't want to sacrifice down travel. can i clear 285/75/16 duratracs without preloading the spring or would i be better off being happy with 265s? i aslo don't mind paying to get my cab mount chopped if that means i can stuff 285s with trimming. lastly, if i have the billies set at zero can i get my leaf springs re-arched or what AAL do i need if i want it to sit a little nose high?

i want to go for minimal lift/this look

That is my truck stock rear front 5100s at .85 the eibach coils give 1.6

With 5100s at the factory setting you would only get the 1.6" s of lift from the coils everything else remains the same

what leaf spring pack do you currently have,.85 on the 5100's,plus adding the eibachs are probably gonna put you nose-high...my 2010 prerunner sport is at .85 on the 5100's on stock springs, pretty sure i got a tad bit more lift than .85,it may depend on the strength of your springs as to how much lift you'll get on the stockers...i'd be inclined to believe that with eibachs and 5100's at zero(with tsb leaf pack),you'd be just about level, and be close to the advertised"1.6",...if you're lucky you'll retain minimal rake,if not you could be maybe barely nose high, not good for brakes, mpg,or daily driving stability..with a worn out 3 leaf pack and,5100's @.85 and eibachs,i can almost assure you you'd be nose high, couple that condition with larger(heavier) tires, pretty sure your mpg will take a nose-dive....didn't really read your original post..you evidently want to be nose high, the 285's look great, but i wouldn't cut up my truck to fit a bigger tire...not seeing any"upside" to it.

Stock 4 leaf there is a picture showing it nose high no speculation involved and there are plenty of benefits to bigger tires one main one is ground clearance another is more side wall for protection when airing down also didn't get a truck to worry about fuel milage

i was on 4 wheel parts checking tires and i think i'm going to stick with 265s for now. hopefully when i'm home again i can take the truck to the dealership and see if they can replace or re-arch my leafs or however this TSB program works. i just hope this next year goes by fast so i can be reunited with my truck again :(

i can agree on your points for more footprint for offroading, and if that's the main purpose for your rig, that's great,i was only replying from my prespective,i expect a crap-load of mileage from my tires, and i'd like to get the best mpg i can possibly get..i'd love to dump tons of cash into a more or less dedicated off-road rig,i'm confident on dirt access roads with my current set-up,also the "factory rake" was designed in to benifit handeling...not trying to start an argument, just my take...

Not going to argue you are correct lol I for one just love the look and 2 don't have to drive my truck all to much other then when we go on off camping trips etc truck handles great how its set up off road and that's all I really care about and it also helped a lot with traction on some loose hill climbs I deal with weekly

,yeah,i see you actually use your truck,i looked at your pics,in light of that,i could see why you'd want to be a little nose-high,my truck is a mall crawler/driveway queen/dog hauler...the dog on your pic-page...mal/shep mix,or old skool gsd?
