So I need a little trim.....

And, I should also probably cut some plastic off the fenders of my truck.

Looking for some advice on what and where to cut so I don't have some hacked up mess hanging partially attached to my truck.

    Here's what I'm working with:

In order, that's the front of the driver's rear, the rear of driver's front, and the rear of the passenger front. Look for the black spots that used to be white.

For some odd reason, nothing on the passenger rear is rubbing.

I'm in the same boat.. have one sitting at the shop. Mounting points look right. My main concern is I don't know if it'll fit into the stupid frame hole. Need to do some measurements

I should be able to adapt the sector shaft.. and I can thread the rod further and cut it if I don't have enough adjustment.

Oh I will... but I'm open diff and so the snow stops me pretty damn quick... I was more talk'n about trails being open... hit up Ironclads yesterday and couldn't go too far as the snow was 2-3" deep in the shadows...

    did have some fun though

Damn... wonder what it means for your group run... not familiar with how quickly things thaw in the mountains here...

My last runner was open diff and it did great in the snow. Just air it down, although the weight over the rear helps the runners in the snow so I feel ya.

Yeah... don't have my compressor yet so don't feel like driving back to town on "squishy" tires... though not sure how "squishy" they'll get they're loadrange E... but they did great... just dug like all hell once I hit the snow

Oh yeah airing down will help in the snow a lot. I bought a cheap one at lowes it seems to work good. It takes about 3-5 min to fill a tire though.

At the top of the body mount I am all the way back to where the actual mount sit on the brace. So in you pic I am about 1/2" further back on the top. Then what I did was cut loose the plate that I had already had welded in there, cut more off the bottom and beat the plate back at an angle to create more clearance.

    Here is a pic:

    20140412_150300_zpsen82gzdr_955775e97fd7725e1cc96ddd8c9b32a167153832.jpg

Then beat the fender well back to match the body mount to maximize the clearance.

BTW, great job on your CMC. Looks a 1000 times cleaner then mine. :)

I bought the little pancake one @ Harbor Freight that was $39 on sale. It's low enough amperage to use the roulette in the truck bed which is what I wanted. Not the speediest thing ever but I've seen people use slower.

Eric I had those same spots back in the day. The bottom lips you can just trim off at an angle with a sawsall. There is a screw on the very bottom there to avoid but other then that you will be fine.

That upper on the one side is probably due to a slight difference side to side on your alignment. What I did was take some Electric Sheet Metal sheers and removed the area that was rubbing. You can keep that screw in tact because it is recessed.

    Hope that helps!
