    Nope... thought about finding a spare rear diff and welding and throwing it in once I got there... but I don't want to destroy my new MT's either...

    and since I've got the rare gearing of 3.90 (or whatever) it'd be hard to find in a junk yard I'm guessing.

    I'd help someone swap out their rear if they want the help. Just need to know so I can bring jack stands and tools and the like. But I dont know what tools would be needed.

    That's a good point about the tires, a very good point. They don't come cheap. What size tires do you run? Maybe some junk yard tires are in order for the rear.

    and i have that rule off road cuz i would be pissed of some one gave my truck body dammage or broke it.

    Um having the rear locked doesnt kill tires that bad unless youre doing a million turns on pavement and trust me i ran a welded diff for almost 6 months it's not that bad..

    Edit: also ill be bringing a 4.10 front diff so is someone wants to lets say regear while down there then bam we could do it fast.

    ok my only experience is with a few friends in Alaska that ran welded rears... I just know they went through tires like crazy... and I've never been to Moab but hear the traction is unreal so just assumed it'd be just as bad if not worse than pavement on tires...

    no worries though... like I said... there's plenty I can do in Moab anyways... it'll just be that much more I'll have for next year :D

    im trying to sell you my shit and give you better traction in moab:D. besides 4.10 gears are easier to find to run an open rear end or you could just swap your carier in that diff and have lower gearing.

    Im also gonna just put this out there.. I lost 2/32" in moab last year just from doing trails and what not thats about 1/8th of tire life from just wheeling and maybe doing a smoke show in a hot tube the fronts wore worse than the rears and locker was open 99% of the time. Point is if youre worried about tires dying to fast i think you guys need to rethink the recreational use of your trucks. hope that didnt piss anyone off.

    tempting... but I need to save $ so I can do it right the first time 4.88's and a locker :D

    no I completely understand... but trying to get the most out of your tires and balancing that with your fun off road isn't a bad thing... to me it's the same for trail damage... just because I choose to wheel it, doesn't mean I don't care about the body and try to limit/elmininate damage... $.02

    I did a locker without re-gearing. It will cost me more money when I do re-gear but I have LOVED the locker, even without re-gearing. There was no way I would have had +/-$3800 to do both lockers and gears anytime soon. So I will likely do the other locker and re-gear both but hopefully be more knowledgeable and be able to do the labor (besides setting up the gears) and save some money.

    think of it like this every time you try a line and you slip one front and one rear will loose life where as if you had a locker you would have just made it. and loose a little life in corners it's a trade off and if it's six's either way i choose the locker way:D

    If you're asking about the sas well im not starting that till after moab. possible in moab if people buy parts off the truck before i leave.
    Till then it's 6" of lift 35" MTRS, 4.88 gears, arb lockers front and rear and this will be my last IFS year in moab.
