I have a exhaust leak at the head of my TRD Headers, and I am going to be getting fixed tomarrow. But was wondering if this could cause my truck to run sluggish, it actually feels like I lost about 20hp?

I geuss I will know by tomarrow, but just curious if it could be the reason.:D

Not sure how it affects performance, unless it's so bad that air is getting in affecting the AFR readings the sensors are picking up.

What gasket did you use. Not sure with the Gen 1's, but I know that the OEM gasket on the 1GR's would not work when I ran my JBA's. Had to order a Felpro style gasket, and that helped seal it up...

Decided to stick with that when I installed DTLT's and no leaks to this day:D

I used OEM, chris recommend them for the TRD headers.

I geuss I will just wait and see if it gets better when I fix it tomarrow. Thanks!

Yes...An exhaust leak can cause the engine to loose power.

Yeah, I've heard of lots of folks using the OEM, and even leaving the existing one. But for me that was a no go. But then again, JBA = Poor quality IMO. DTLT = Quality. I would like to think that the TRD would be of same qual as DT's..

    Good luck.

Well, I got it fixed! we had to helicoil the stupid stud. But now its fixed and I am leak free! :) My power came back too. Love the power gain of these headers!

Now I just hope I stay leak free! Oh and my exhaust has turned a little raspy, but I geuss its ok. I would like it a little quieter and less rasp. Does anyone know a exhaust that will do this? I have a gibson.
