Hmmm, I would like to see some pictures just to know what to watch for. Ill just have to search around sometime tonight. My current one is quite heavy and then the rugged tepui packs a fat weight as well. I haven't seen sagging but its only been about 6 months with the new rack.

that's because the angle iron used for your mounts runs the rull length of the rack. it's when you only have the angle under the feet of the rack with no intermedieate support, that you get the sag. you should be fine. just make sure to check the securing hardware every once in a while.

O, well I debated cutting the excess rail support out to save some weight but guess I will cross that plan off my summer list :p.

you can cut out notches in the vertical sections if you want to toss a factory cleat or two back in there, but leave as much as possible.

Nah, I would probably just get some tabs welded on it. I never liked the factory cleats...to flimsy. I have been thinking about other designs lately and I really want to learn to weld so I might try my hand at it over the summer.

My rack has angle the entire length of the bed and 3 bolts on each side securing it to the bed rails.

Does your guys' angle iron sit flush with the bed rails? IIRC the bed sides dont have a perfect 90* angle

Mine sits on the rails fine, but I do not think the contact point is 100% over the entire bed rails. My rack still is not as heavy as a bed cap

Yeah Cohbs, they are local for us too in the SLC area. They are very high quality trailers and if you know anything about what goes into building a trailer, especially one of this quality you won't think the price is unreasonable. The fact remains that the price point will not fit too many people's budget.

You are going to wish it was just a rumor once you see the damage that is caused....http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...acoma-bed-rail-reinforcement.html#post6665700

Even full length will rust them out...they may not shear, but they will rust out eventually.

See the link....and you know the thread already

I would guarantee your bed rails are already rusted to crap. Maybe not crushed but rusted to hell.

Complete OME kit w/ 881's and dakars. All-Pro Sliders, CB, HAM Radio and various other minor stuff.
I've been debating what to do with "Little Red". While I'd love to install 33's, to do it right I'd need to spend $4k-6k. Bigger tires with a 3RZ would require me to regear. Regearing, as a matter of cost-saving, would require putting in lockers. So, tires, gears, lockers, lift, etc. would make my wallet ache too much. Then again, my kids don't "really need" clothes, food or school supplies, do they?

With that in mind, I'm thinking about going more for an overland build with reliability and survivability in mind. I'm running 31's right now which is decent. The OEM suspension needs to do but I can do Wheelers 1.5" lift for about $1k. Add in skids and sliders for another $1k and I've made my truck immensely more capable without breaking the bank plus these things can be done in sections.

Add a bed rack, storage and other odds and ends for another $1k and I've got a very simple and reliable setup for half of what I'd pay to try and fit 33's.
