Woke up to a flat. Put on the spare, and in the process jacked up my read passenger side door handle. Got the tire situation fixed (brand new tire from Discount Tire - can't say enough about their service!) and will now be looking to fix the door handle. Is there a DIY fix thread somewhere here for fixing rear door handles on outside 2nd Gen doors?

Yea, oh well… I do it for me, not others, just the same as you I'm sure. My 5 is a permanent fixture, so I'm good on dumping money into it. I have plans for a motor swap, RS body conversion etc, so that figure will greatly increase over time:) The Brembo's hurt the worst so far haha. I have a wheel sponsor, so that helps. Multi-pieces forged wheels rain on me as I please. Just ordered another set. Current ones were on for about 3 months lol.

    We can be #besties :p

That looks awesome!! Thanks for the pic. How does that piece come off? I have not looked yet.

Yes, facelift. Happened in '12. You cannot fit that insert. Dip your emblem, and the lower bar. Will look great.

Got my 2nd alignment in a week...the jokers at Firestone can't get it right. Not to mention they gouged my brand new Icon Upper control arm powder coating:eek:! I should have known better...Lifetime alignment is worthless. It's going tomorrow to an"Old-timer" that's been around for 30+ years doing alignments, Hoping for a much better outcome.

i took my car in 4 times in one week. the 2nd time i had to show him how to adjust camber. it was just loosening a bold but he said it would cost me 80 bucks. I had to take it home and do it myself by eyeballing it and guessing with a angle finder.....it really depends on the location. Ive had good experiences and bad ones.

Unfortunately, the 2010 Tacoma's insert will not come off. The bottom insert and bumper are all one piece. I came across some Members who just taped and dipped the insert. There should be a pic of it in the plastdip thread. Hope that helps!!! :)

Thank you! It was a pain. Unfortunately, I accidentally broke to tabs because I didn't know they were the only ones left. The last two tabs was hidden behind the metal plate behind the insert. When I get my new insert I will be able to see where those two sneaky tabs were.

If you want, pm me and I can give you a detailed step by step on how to remove the bumper. I got the instruction from a member here.

    Aloha

One of my best friends is a Tech there & his wife is a service writer there. Just a bit far from the south sound.

Installed my new MBRP exhaust. They didn't have the single cat-back in stock so I went for the dual outlet version. The sound is fantastic, nice and deep! During my daily commute I'm going 80 km/h ave speed (1,500 rpm) and no droning. The sound is pretty aggressive when accelerating but mellows nicely once up to speed. I have yet to try the highway...

Do you guys seriously just drop off your trucks and say I need an alignment?

    Then bitch if it's FUBAR?

Just wondering because I use Firestone all the time with zero issues but I also "interviewed" the service manager to insure he knew his shit and he in turn sets my appointments up for when his good tech is working.

Seems a good deal of you just "expect" good service and people who know WTF they are doing. Just a FYI - common sense isn't so common.

Anytime I hand my truck over to anyone I make sure they know their shit.

its a hit or miss for me. I even educate the advisers with how to adjust parts on the truck and bring in a sheet with numbers i want. Most of the time they listen but sometimes i get idiots that put the truck up, do basically nothing for an hour, and return it back saying its fine and in spec....

I usually am not that picky with my numbers on the truck but when i bring in the sports car or a car im really particular about wheel fitment i usually hover by the window and make the techs nervous.

I have a local auto body handle mine. Costs more but I only get an alignment once a year or so. Anytime I take the truck there we walk around the truck and I show him the parts I changed and what I want done. Never left disappointed.
