The 95-97 Taco Thread

Got my new Relentless Bumper mounted up!

 

Back in the day with 3 inch spacer, 2 inch body and 33's.





Then onto a 6 inch Trailmaster with the same 2 inch body and 35's.

 

New, heavy ass, tires and front glass. I love this pic.

I want in.. need to get a picture of taco tuesday (my girls call her trusty rusty) but just wanted to ask..

When you push in the clutch should it be normal then the last 1/3 or so pretty stiff? Seems to engage fine about the half way mark. Tried the high gear up hill to make it slip and it passed that test.

It's still new to me.. just waiting for it to warm up so I can go and start fixing things. First thing will be floorpan as the drivers side is pretty rusty. Haven't decided how much effort to put into it.

She's got a big brother too... 2008 Tundra CM LTD with 21k miles on it. Bought her brand new and will probably have it forever. Tried to get a pic but it turned out crappy.

From what I'm told is a 2.5" lift, front leveler pucks or something (lol). Runs like a dream. clutch probably needs bleeding. Lots of body rust, frame looks good. Coating is flaking off but only surface rust from what I can see under that.

Everything works on it except the parking brake... totally siezed. Power windows, locks, etc. The outside lock tumblers are shot. The gas door flops in the wind. Just replaced the light behind the HVAC and there is one bulb out in the dash that I need to replace. Oh, I guess the clock doesn't work, but the radio and tape player (original!) do and it sounds pretty good.

Should have 20 year collector plates for it soon. 213k miles.

I also thought I'd ask you 95-97 experts how you would go about removing the vinyl striping that goes down the side of the truck. It is old brittle and frayed and I would like to remove it.

Clean!
Theres a few ways to remove it, but most likely your paint has probably faded, and the paint beneath that stripe isnt faded. So you will have a line
