I feel like you should be able to make some kind of "drug deal" when it comes to your aftermarket parts.

Going out on a limb here, but if you're going through insurance shouldn't you delete some of the info and pics on here, showing you took it off road etc. and flooded it? Or does it even matter? idk.

I told them what happened and they are still covering it. Shouldn't be an issue.

He got little to no value for his add on parts. I read the report from his insurance writer that noted all the damages and parts.

He was allowed to remove aftermarket parts so long as they were replaced by factory parts.

I wish you well, but would not have done what you did by handing over a fully modified vehicle that will be totaled.

I would of stripped off all the aftermarket parts and put the stock ones back on before doing anything. If you didn't have the stock parts I would of sold and traded the buyers for their old OE parts.

I just got off the phone with my adjuster. Had the call recorded while I explained what happened. Kind of nerve tacking to be honest because it seemed like they won't cover it if they determine I was offroading with it.

He also said the only aftermarket parts that add any value to the vehicle are ones that improve the capability of the vehicle, mostly in the drivetrain. So a new transmission, new engine components, etc. things like wheels and tires and paint jobs and $250 HID headlights are all personal preference that don't have any resale value associated with them.

They will look at my truck over the next few days to first determine if it will be covered, then determine if it is repairable, then determine repair costs or total loss cash value.

He also mentioned that I will be able to remove any aftermarket parts that do not affect the driveability of the truck and replace any others with OE, like you mentioned.

    Getting very anxious...

hey Chris, if this comes down to that, I still have ALL of my factory suspension, rear shocks, leafs (ublots too I believe), coilovers, and UCAs. I dunno if it really matters, but I have my TRD Alloy wheels too

Dude, yes! Save them for me. I am getting the feeling I may not get my truck back in one piece.

I will lol, and dunno if you took your sway bar off or not, I still have that too, just both set of end links I have are missing a bolt/nut, but sway bar links are very cheap

EDIT: I have the factory Air Box as well, forgot I had that since I threw on a K&N CAI

No one will notice a sway bar missing.

The adjuster also hinted that if they can tell the vehicle was taken offroad and used more than point A to B driving, they may not cover the damage depending on my coverage.

Getting some serious knots in my stomach over this shit.

I'm worried they won't let me take it if they end up totaling it.

Yea, Darwin was great. He kinda started freaking out a little when water started coming into the cab.

I really hope usaa doesn't screw me on this.

Usually the company will allow you to buy it from them (you get the truck with no money from them)

    What did the wife say?
