    it looks like the op actually did a pretty good job of holding them on there. They work for their intended purpose and like someone stated the Zuk mod has been done by quite a few.

    My only concern would now be the limiting of uptravel... i doubt that spring compresses as much as the original bumpstop.

    Zuk mod has been around longer than his pickup ha Oldschool Pickups and Runners have been doing it forever. I put Jeep Coils between the rear bumpstops of my 93 Pickup and the rear no longer sags, hold my topper and gear like a champ, and was a lot easier than finding new leafs and installing them.

    So....let me get this strait. He welded spring steel...directly to a piece of 3/8" plate? :crazy:

    First off, spring steel is hardend and tampered (heat treated). Secondly, spring steel more carbon which in turn makes it sensitive to hydrogen embrittlement (makes it brittle). Simply welding scrap to spring steel would first necessitate a high preheat. Then a low hydrogen weld with a matching strength filler metal. And then a post weld stress relief.

    I'm sure the OP did all this though :popcorn:

    Im not sure but what about back in the days of black and white TV. The young ones would cut a coil or 5 out of the springs And weld the end back on. cheep ez drop and they always held up even at the drag strip .The shop teacher always said this could be dangerous so let me show you how to do it:rolleyes:.:notsure:
