I guess it's my turn to check in here.
    CWO4(AVI) USCG Ret.

ADC is Aviation Machinist Mate Chief
    AVI is Aviation Engineering Specialty

I found the chatter about Cadets interesting. I have worked with them as an Enlisted and as an Officer. They have NO rank outside of their class standing and their leadership position at their respective Academy. As future leaders they are to be treated respectfully but they fall nowhere in the command structure until they are Commissioned.

While I was on Recruiting Duty I used to arrange to bring them into the Office during their "school breaks" (basically extending their leave and thus time at home) and had a hell of a time getting them not to call me "Sir":)

Good grief what a shit-storm about cadets haha. I'm sure every branch does it differently, but in the ARMY (Army only, according to AR 600-200), TECHNICALLY cadets fall in the chain of command between commissioned officers and warrants. USMA cadets "outrank" ROTC cadets. As has been previously mentioned, they are addressed as "Sir", but do not command a salute. Nor will one with any sense try to throw his weight around. I am currently mentoring an SMP cadet, and can only hope I am not corrupting him too much.

Removed the dealer tag holder…that’s it.

In the Army a Mr./Ms. Is a Warrant officer. I wish we were the highest ranking, but still a little happy I'm not!
