Are you positive it's from the drive shaft? Are you 4x4? If so, could be this: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...nt-differential-bearing-vibration-thread.html

Got a hook-up from a friend on a motorcycle forum, he runs a shop that has a wall-mounted OTC Strut Tamer. Made quick work of assembling the two front coils.

Now to find time/space to do the rest of the wrenching...

So ARB says I don't need extended break lines if I stay below 3"

Everyone here says I need extended break lines, has anyone who didn't change them ever torn theirs?

I was told I didn't need them. I was going to do it but never did. Have had my lift on for about a month and not even close to needing them. It really depends if you are going to be doing some serious off roading. Some of the guys replace them mainly as a precaution if they ever need them. Some replace them for better response, I might down the road but just honestly didn't want to deal with it at the time. In the end it is your choice and what will suit your needs.

Put your lift on and go flex it out. You'll see how close you are and can make the decision to do it or not.

Well, tomorrow is the day. My buddy that was gonna help me says he might not be able to make it, but I'm gonna tackle the lift install anyhow. Never done a lift before, but I have decent general mechanical skills. I've lowered a few cars, but never lifted a truck. I'll let you guys know how it works out and take some before and after pics.

Good luck. It is a task that is for sure. I couldn't imagine getting those dakars on and in place without a set of hands.

Thanks for the tips and advice. I'm hoping my buddy doesn't flake on me, but if he does I'll just have to suck it up and endeavor to get er done.

Question about extended brake lines. Are long break lines better then the brackets that you can install to change the location of the stock lines allowing you to have more of a lift?

The lines are much higher quality and will have better response (I personally do not have them however)

What is this bracket you speak of? I would be interested in one. I searched all over to find where I could purchase the bracket that comes on the Baja edition to extend the lines with no luck. I hear just stacking washers works just the same.

Its a kit that is being sent with my Icon lift. When I receive it in a couple of weeks I will know more.

That bracket is an easy solution some folks use. Its just a "U" shaped piece of metal that just shoves the male connectors up giving you more play in the lines. Super easy and affective way to take care of the issue of pulling on the lines during droop. ;)

    Questions....

I was quoted 1200 for the kit and 400 for labor to get the OME 2" kit installed. What do you all think about the price? I know many will say to do it myself, but I with two kids and little spare time and knowledge, I am very hesitant. Just wanted all your opinions.

Well I spent about 6 hours on and off today installing my lift. Got the drivers side front done. the UCA install is a HUGE PITA, I'm sure it would be easier if I wasn't searching for the proper tools half the time. Once that was installed the strut replacement was super easy. I'm gonna call it a night and hit it hard tomorrow. I had a buddy come over and help with some of it, we both hadn't ever installed a lift before so it was a learning experience for sure.

Michael's Toyota in Bellevue quoted me something just $1,600 (plus tax) for the parts and installation. They're an ARB dealer, and I guess they do quite a few of them. I don't remember the exact price, but it was under $1,600, and did include the alignment.

Les Schwab is also an ARB dealer around here, so you might check with them on their price and installation quotes.

Forgot to add, be sure you get all of your stock parts back too! Don't let them keep them, they are yours.

Lol took me and another guy from 10am till 11:30 pm to get it totally installed. Running around getting larger sockets killed us. The UCA install only took about 30 mins once I finally looked up how to bend the inside fender then removing the bolt wasn't too bad. I still need to take these bolts back to the dealership.

I've worked on quite a few vehicles, I don't think I've encountered something as asinine or ridiculous as the UCA bolt situation. lol Wish me luck today!

we just bent the inside fender with plyers or channel locks. Used 1/4 socket extender to tap the bolt through while the other guy was in the engine bay guiding it and eventually pulling it out. Took all of maybe 10-15 mins per side. Driver side a little longer cause you need to take out the battery tray.
