I'm on the fence right now of weather I want the annex for my tent or the awning. I will have both eventually. I'm just trying to think which is best first. Il leaning towards awning.

I vote awning. Annex's are nice for storage and maybe sleeping another person but most of the time you are gonna be outside doing things and the awning just makes a nice shady spot.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I want the annex for my dogs, and daughter eventually, but I think the annex is better right now.

Awning gets my vote, i've got my annex and i've set the bastard up literally one time since i've had my RTT in October, lol i just dont sit still long enough right now to justify putting it up. Maybe if I'm staying at someones place for 2+ days but for the half days that i have mine up, it aint worth it to me.

Doesn't the annex come with most of them anyways?

My vote is annex regardless. Place for the gear while you sleep in the tent.

    I ordered both lol

No I've had mine for a while so it came with nothing. I don't really need room for gear I have a 4runner I have all the room I need for gear. I'm going with awning it's more usable to me at this time. I'll get the annex when my daughter gets a little older. I like the annex that comes off the awning better I think anyway.

The annex seems more versatile - depending on the height you have the tent mounted at of course. Annex can be sleeping area, weather shelter, storage all in one. Not going to get that with an awning unless you get the walls to go along with it.

I just want the shade for a place to sit under and drink my beer. Again I have a 4runner so I don't need the covered space for storage. My daughter is still to young to sleep in an area without us. I'm no holiday in if my buddies want to go camping they can bring their Own sleeping arrangements. :) I use mine alone with my dogs most of the time anyway so I think the awning would be awesome to just chill out under. Plus like I said I think the annex that hooked to the end of the awning is a cool use of the space.

No, I'm not very active over there. Most of the people I wheel with are on here or own jeeps. I'm a member over there but not very active. The CO people over there are as fun as the TW crowd. Plus I bought my last runner from a member over there and they all got mad when I said he did a hack job on every part he tried to fix(because he did and used cheap autozone shit) and I had to have my buddy who is a Toyota tech fix it. No big deal on my end fixing the stuff, but they got all mad defending his shitty workmanship. :)

Yeah I don't know they are just a different group. I'm talking about the CO guys. The guys here on Tw are much more fun to hang out with. :D

This may be a ridiculous question but what do you use for pillows?

    Do you:

    -Use the home bed ones?
-Buy some cheap ones at walmart?
-Buy a fancy one that deflates and inflates with a bit of air or a backpacking compressible?
    -Something complete different?

I ask as I feel if i leave a regular pillow in there i feel it will get all flat..... Please help me with my ridiculous questions or I may lose sleep over this.... possibly even have nightmares of flat pillows.

I use regular pillows but I take them out. I leave my blanket and two bags in the top though.

I just leave regular pillows in there. I am also one of those guys that doesn't care a whole lot about a pillow as long as it elevates my head slightly and is softer than a rock.

If you're gonna live in luxury, might as well take real pillows!
