Yeah I paid 100 bucks for mine to be thrown in by Midas. You could probably find better prices and quality, but it was a Sunday and I'm impatient. :p

So I know this thread is a little old but I need advice.

Right now I'm running DTLT a URD ypipe a 18 in resonator and a 18 in wicked flow. If I were to go with the 2525xl with a turndown 6 in off the muffler would it be to quite or just right? Thoughts? Suggestions?

That's how I was. I saw a lot of great review for the 2525xl and watched some YouTube videos. I pulled the trigger and I like it. Not too loud but just right for a v6. Sounds good when you give it some gas, might make ur mpgs go down.

I've had the AT2525XL for almost a year now, has increased greatly in noise..possibly due to lift from added ground clearance.

just took my truck to a garage to have the 2525xl installed and the magnaflow removed. I thought the 2525xl was for the stock tacoma pipes, but I guess mine are 2.25". Did you guys have your pipes flared to 2.5" or install new 2.5" ones? I am going to flare the inlet and use a new 2.5" from the outlet to the tip. It is unfortuneately going to cost me more :(

^It was weld and play, they saw'd off the stock muffler and replaced it with my AT2525XL,

    They might be BS'ing you?

He said he could do it but it would be sloppy since the tip is also 2.25. Seemed like an honest person.

Older Tacomas are 2.25, newer ones are 2.5. But, I've run a 2.5 Magnaflow and a 2.5 Borla on my 09 (2.25) and the shop just welded them in.

Built for maximum low end torque, tooter II.VII intake manifold spacer, LCE long tube header, Injen long tube intake, 2,900 rpm torque peak.
My stock pipe was metric, about 2 3/8" outside diameter. I bought a 2.25" inlet and outlet muffler so the exhaust guy flared out the muffler ends to fit the stock pipes. Exhaust shops have hydraulic expanders on their bending machines that easily expand pipe ends in just a few seconds for a good slip fit. :)

I can try to get you a driving sound clip of my 2525xl and headers and supercharger, although I have the 3.4L. I'm sure it's a similar sound. When you get on it, it makes a lot of noise. The TRD systems I've heard make nowhere near this much noise.
