    The statement you quoted is inaccurate. Don't worry about it, as you are correct.

    The quoted statement, would lead you to creating a vacuum leak, when not in boost, it it were routed like an N/A setup.

    For the turbo and centrifical setups, the best method to have it routed is with both valve covers going into the can, and a breather on top. Completely disconnected from the intake manifold.

    Torspd, since I'm S/Ced. I ran it from the PCV valve to the can. Then from can to intake. With no breather on the can. Just the way it was with the oil can interrupting the path from PCV valve to intake. That's fine, correct?

    Sorry, was thinking turbo when I said boosted... IIRC, breather shouldnt be needed with the TRD S/C setup as boost is made AFTER the manifold return line, but I could be wrong. Either way, you CAN run a breather setup as long as you cap off the manifold fitting rather than run a return line. Usually its a bit more expensive for the vented can so if you dont need it, just stick with the non vented.
    Wait what? :confused: Thats what I said. Vented can only if you DONT run a line back to the manifold to keep the boost from pressurizing the crank. Cap off the manifold return line and no vacuum leaks, right... :notsure:

    You're right. I somehow over looked or didn't realize the first part of what yours said. For added clarification, one would have to plug the port on the intake tube as well. The port that goes to the passenger valve cover.

    A few things
    For some of you guys who have had this one for while, how often do you have to empty this? It seems like a great mod to do to lengthen engine life.
    Is there any noticeable difference in the way engine runs or sounds? I doubt it but just thought id ask anyways. Thanks

    Ok I need some assistance from you amazingly smart individuals.

    I purchased the ADD Oil Catch can as posted by Dan, he's right it is amazing quality. The problem I'm having is how the heck do I mount this thing??? Dan it looks like you have it mounted to a black bracket of some sort can you give me some insight was that part of your 2014 or did you buy it or make it or???

    I have a 2014 4x4 DCSB Sport TRD. Here's two pictures one farther away and one close up of the spot by the drivers side in the engine bay that I have. The two Torx screws that come in the package are too small to fit into that hole. Any thoughts???

    i just drilled 2 holes in the side of my inner fender and used the mounting bracket that came with the can

    Horray!!! Got my ADD W1 Catch can installed!!! A couple of things I learned while doing this.

    I did this on a 2014 DCSB V6 4x4

    Here are the hose lengths required. 18 inches and 21 1/4th inches L and R respectively. I used 3/8th inch fuel hose and the two smaller connectors. I also tried some 7/16th's it would work but the seal was not as "tight" as the 3/8th's was. I'm glad I went with the 3/8's. As a "happy accident" I discovered that it makes it easier to slip the 3/8th's tube over the oil cans fitting if you first put that end of the hose on the Engines fitting. I guess there is grease or something on there and it just makes it a little more slippery. I also put some PTFE (teflon) tape on the dip sticks threads.

    Here's a side view of the catch can so you can see what the above listed hose lengths will look like. I did not drill into the main bed like the OP (nothing wrong with that I just didn't want to drill my new truck.) :)

    I used the existing screw holes that were already there on the truck. They are M8x1.25, I got the screws at Lowes in the Metric Bins. I also put on a Split Lock Washer only because I'm just overly concerned about it staying put and not coming loose. To actually secure the bracket to the truck I had to drill out the holes on the Oil Catch Can's Bracket as they are too small. I used a 5/16ths sized drill bit and it worked very nicely just held it with a pair of pliers on one end and the steps on the other. Use a little bit of WD-40 or other lubricating oil when you drill. While Aluminum is a "self lubricating metal" as compared to steel it just cuts smoother and gets far less hot if you do use a little lubrication.

    Some tips for those who are going to install using the existing screw holes. You have to use the bottom hole instead of the top hole. I tried using the top hole the first time......yeah forget it you can't screw the bracket to the truck. You have to use the bottom hole and you should remove the bottom part of the can. Makes it much much easier.

    Here's a close up of the hoses at the engine. The one on the right was a real PITA!!! I recommend you try using a socket I believe it was a number 5 or 6mm. The other option which I wish I had was an EZ Hose clamp that uses the keys to turn instead. The space is just big enough to fit my hand but a screw driver was all but useless and the socket was the only thing I could get in there. I had to tighten up the hose clamp as much as possible higher up on the hose and then slide it down. I didn't want to use the Toyota Hose clamps that were on the OEM hose, I wanted to make sure this didn't come off. The OEM hoses slid off pretty easily, which was surprising to me.

    I have a question hopefully you and others can give me your opinion on. You said the 7/6" hose was not a tight enough seal, do you believe the 3/8" hose is too tight?

    What is everybody else using 3/8" or 7/16" hose.

    Looking forward to installing my catch can, but I can't decided what diameter of fuel hose.

    i used the 7/16 hose with no leaks or CEL's. the hose clamps ensure a good seal when they are clamped down. just dont go crazy over-tightening them

    The 7/16th's left a small gap, by small I'm talking 2mm at least on my kit. The 3/8ths fit very nicely. I had both hose lengths available and after looking at both of them and putting it over the fitting I went with the 3/8ths. I've included a photo with a measurement of the stock hose. The inner diameter is 5/16ths, the 3/8ths hose is only 1/16th larger ID wise. I found the 3/8ths hose easily came off with only a finger I didn't want to put any larger of a hose on there than I needed to. Also got some scotchbrite Stainless Steel Scrubbers from Ace hardware to put into the baffle to help with collection as I believe the OP did above.

    Hope that helps you out. Wish I had taken a photo of both the hoses with the fittings on them.

    Thanks for the post and pic JohnNP. Guess maybe I'll go with the 3/8" as it is already slightly larger than stock.

    Just finished mine. I used 1/8" x 3/4" alum. flat stock to make the mounting bracket. I mounted it to this bolt.

    There is a bend in the bracket to get the can to sit level, you can see it here before I cleaned and painted it.

    I have plenty of room to reach under to unscrew and remove the can.

    I like this idea, im just worried about the weight of a half full can bending that bracket down and it hitting other components, that and vapor condensing in the lines and running back into the fitting/engine....

    Ohh very nice. I may have to adjust mine just like that!!! I'm really curious as to where the Redline's insert into the truck and how they interfere with the Catch Can. I guess it's with the folding down and collapsing of the Hood they struts will bump into it. Nice to see a fellow Georgian on here. :)
