I tried at using the reversed 50mm like Murph did in last weeks challenge. Made me appreciate your shot even more. My attempt at the dandelion seed pod were a ways off from Murph's shot. I was having a hell of a time focusing. Do you have a manual aperture ring? Mine does not Do you use a reversing ring at all or just hold it with you hand? Anyway, while I was at it I ended up with this shot. I thought it turned out kinda cool.

Edit: I just discovered the depth of field preview button and can now set the lens at a specific aperture

 

What plugins do you guys find most useful for LR?

 

Yeah, I have the Nikon 50mm 1.8D lens with the aperture ring on it. It also doesn't have the focus motor and relies on the one in the camera for AF. F/8 is about as dark as I can go and still see to focus. I move back and forth to focus. I just hold it on there by hand. I have a reversing ring but can't find it.

That did turn out good. You might could put your finger on the aperture slide on the mount side of the lens and close it down a little to get some more depth of field.

 

The only one I have installed is HDR Efex Pro and haven't used it in LR. I like the one under Photo that says edit in photoshop cs6.

 

Oh sure! I will look around when I get home. I want to be able to do some layering.

 

ok. here is some photos i have taken that i thought i’d share. i think most where taken on a Canon rebel T3. maybe a few from my iphone.

These are from my phone, but kinda cool photos of the mountains.
I forget whats this is off of, but the sky in WNY looking north towards canada and buffalo back in jan.

Norris dam in TN and a few things around it all taken with the rebel. dam was built in 1936.

FINALLY GOT MY LENS IN!!! (Tamron 150-600mm) Its AWESOME! I am very happy with it.. worth the wait. Just in time for the eclipse too.

That lens looks pretty sharp Colin. I'm been waiting to see some shots from that lens from someone that it wasn't sent to to review it. How's the AF on it?

 

Takes super clean shots with a very shallow DOF. It was hard for me at 1st since I had net realized that it was necessary for me to see the subject in focus as compared to the actual shot since I wear glasses and have become too dependent on AF. So after seeing a shot in Liveview and then adjusting the viewfinder so its clear to me, the fun began.

Nothing extraordinary as this was my 1st go.
