The giant spider in my bushes or The Story of my Saturday Home Alone

I wasn't talking about your little spider...

Who has a water bottle big enough for a camel spider??? Those things are HUGE - looks like they're bigger than my hand.

 

I wonder what would came up if you guys get together one time to make some experiments..... im thinking, fire department, swat team, national guard??

BTW, I agree on the story, was a very fun read LOL

 

its a garden spider, if you get bit by one it only leaves an itchy spot for 2-3 days. pretty harmless.

 

They really aren't that big. The picture blows them out of proportion. The one we caught was probably a juvenile and completely spread out over the bottom of a 1 liter water bottle, I'd say a solid 3 inches across. Definitely a big spider and I wouldn't have wanted to mess with the ridiculous jaws but most people think they're the size of dinner plates, when that title goes unchallenged to the goliath bird eating spider at a good 12" from leg tip to leg tip. Camel spiders are insane but they're still only a few inches across.

 

and still would have missed the spider.

 

Unless it's RADIOACTIVE which this one obviously was!

Back in high school on the bus, I felt something on my neck. No one saw it because it's 6 AM and the suns not out. I felt it and realized it's a gigantic bug. Out of reaction, I threw it off of my neck and the rest of the bus ride, my buddy and I were crouching on our seat. When we arrived at school, I saw it on my backpack. Bitch was huge and so stomped on it.

lol, this reminds me of another time. My friend was driving us to school and was coming to a red light. Then he notices a spider, freaks out, throws the tranny in park while rolling at 5 mph still, and runs out of his Chevy Trail Blazer lol. I have never heard a tranny make such a horrible sound.

yea the one i was feeding got ginormous then laid an egg sack... got huge again and then laid another egg sac... i think she had 3 eggs sacs that year... didnt return tho

 

yeah, as long as there are no threats to them around, they'll stay for a while. we did have about 5 different ones at the place i used to live....everyone of them got friggin huge. their webs are cool as hell too.
