I know this is the TACOMA forum, but....

Got a question for you guys, I know this is supposed to be about Tacomas, but I have searched and searched and I cannot find the answer to this question anywhere. The dealership told me it couldnt be done.

You all know how to turn the seatbelt chime off in the Tacoma's right?

That worked fine for me, but the wife just bought a 09 Camry SE. And that damn chime is annoying and I cannot find out how to turn it off.

Any help? I tried the same thing that worked on my Taco with no luck.

You have to jump through the same hoops when reprogramming a key fob. No wonder the dealer charges $80 to reprogram.

Wear your seatbelt and the chime will stop.

 

I have a 3/4 mile long driveway. Mail box is at the bottom. She drives it when its cold to go get the mail. And that seatbelt chime stops chiming right when she gets to the bottom of the hill. Then if she gets out, once she gets back in it chimes all the way up the hill to the house... I think its pretty funny myself...lol

 

there is a pretty easy and obvious solution... Just Wear The Damn Thing!

 

Awesome! I was able to silence the seat belt chime in my truck using the info posted in this thread. That's been bugging me every day after I stop to get the mail, and now it's gone. This forum is great. Thanks for the tips!

Next, I've gotta find how to stop the beeping when I unlock my doors with the remote.

 

Found this on wiki:

There is a connector that hooks the sensor in the buckle to the wires in the computer. If, by some happenstance that wire harness connector gets disconnected, the warning chime no longer works

 

..what about pulling the fuse for it?

I dunno how to do it though on your car...

 

the trick will still do the beep when starting the engine, so if it's to get the mail, it won't really work. after that initial beeping though, it won'T keep beeping or if you are driving you can unfasten the belt and it won't beep

for the door, you need to either unplug the small plug in the column (steering) or you can alter the speaker itself. Both have pros and cons

well, when i change the LEDs on clusters, i just solder off the buzzer, its just two prongs....depends on how much work you want to do when you can simply put the belt on...!
