I saw the feeler thread a while back and totally forgot about it until you posted a link in the Utah thread. I was wondering if you could post a link to Thule Tracks that can work with your Roof Rack for a 6' Long Bed. And would I be correct in assuming the Tracks would require drilling?

Got my side rails back from the powder coating the other day. Put everything together and got it on the truck. Looks crazy good! I have already had about 5 compliments in 2 days. Can't wait to get the kayak up there and see how it does on a road trip!

I am not sure how much space you have on the topper for the long bed. I have 42" tracks on my truck and I think J4RR was going to do 60" tracks like these on his long bed topper. They do require you to drill the topper to mount but it is very simple and straightforward. The roof rack for the truck cab requires no drilling if you have a double cab.

I guess I'm going to have to take a look, but I'm wondering if I would have to drill my roof for your rack? I have an 05 access cab, so I'm just wondering if you might know?

The access cab will require you to drill. I provide rivet nuts and you drill 6 holes on each side of the roof down on the channel and install the rivet nuts. Then the rack bolts into the rivet nuts.

Ok cool, that shouldn't be too hard to do. I'm guessing when the rivet nuts go in I should use some kind of water proof sealer in each hole just to make sure nothing gets in.
Any idea how much weight the roof holds with a rack like this installed?

I am interested in a rack for the access cab as well. I've read about the drilling of the roof so that's ok. I checked your website but didn't see the weight capacity other than YMMV. Your design looks top notch. Thankyou for considering the access cab fellas.

So I've looked for the dimensions for this and can't find them.

What's the dimensions for the double cab one? Thanks

I don't really have a way to test for weight capacity which is why it isn't listed. It also is very dependent on the number of crossbars you order because the weight will be spread across more surface.

I have had 500+ static pounds on the rack for the topper with 8 and 10 crossbars. I have also had 200+ on it while cruising down the highway at 75+ MPH with no problem. I have been on trails bouncing around with 150+ lbs on both racks with standard number of crossbars.

In all these cases the weight was very well distributed and there was no visible deflection on the crossbars. I estimated the weight capacity to be higher than what I have had on it as long as the weight is evenly distributed.

The access cab actually uses 6 mounting points on each side of the roof compared to the five on each side on the double cab. We also used large bolts for mounting so the strength of the mounts on the access cab should actually be stronger than on the double cab.

Actual platform dimensions are 47" wide by about 54" long. The rails themselves are about 58-59" long.

The bottom of the rack sits about 1.5" above the highest point of the roof. In the front where the rack is tallest, the bottom sits about 3" above the roof.

Ok. Im trying to get my rtt to be in line with the top of the rack so I'm trying to get the height to the top of the rack.

If you measure directly above the crack between the two doors it is 3.5" from the top of the weather strip in the roof channel to the top of the crossbars.

Is your RTT on a bedrack?

    Thanks for the info.

Not yet. RTT is en route and my bedrack will be getting built once I know all the dimensions I want.
