Got the itch in wanting to get a new Taco. Plus the girlfriend has a friend that has hook ups on Toyota/Lexus vehicles. I'm leaning towards a 4X4 Access Cab with the convenience package w/ SR package. But wondering if its worth it just packaging it with the TRD Off-Road package.

So my question is, what's the difference between just having a 4X4, versus a 4X4 with the TRD Off-Road package? Would a 4X4 suffice enough to be taken off road?

I got just the base since I knew I was ripping out all factory skids, bumpers, suspension, tires and eventually getting lockers. Depends what direction your going with the truck, for me chrome shit, electric locker, house plug in the bed and a sticker wernt worth the extra cost.

For one, you get the electronic locker with the off road.. so technically instead of 2 wheels getting power you can have 3.. you could add a locker on your own, but persoanlly if buying a new truck, I would spring to have it in already..

SR package doesn't come with reverse camera neither and I think I've become super dependent on it now reversing lol

The TRD seats alone are worth getting the offroad/sport package.

Yup I'm super dependent on the back up camera. I have the sr package and I had to install an aftermarket back up camera. I believe it's wired for it cause I seen some wires by the tailgate that's wrapped by itself. I think you just gotta but the camera that goes by the tailgate handle.

I think factory locker and ATRAC are worth it. If you have ever driven up a hill climb with ATRAC on, you'd know ;)
Traction wont be as good as being locked front and rear, but at least with ATRAC and rear diff locked, you can still turn.

Thanks guys, for the great infos. So pretty much the biggest feature of the TRD Off-Road package is ATRAC and rear locker?

Anyone ever used Servco auto center.com build your vehicles feature? Not really sure how accurate the pricing is, but does it give you an idea what you end up paying for.

The Servco website is sort of accurate...seems they pre-package the options already on the cars that come here(cookie cutter A, B, C, etc)

You'd probably have to go down in person and go line by line of what options you want.

I'm thinking about buying my next new car from the mainland and shipping it here. Pretty sure I could save some $$ that way too.

You can as long as you have an address over there to register it to. A lot of people used to buy in Oregon cause no sales tax, and ship here, but now you would need an OR address.
