There seems to be about a half inch gap between the U channel on my sliders, and when I crank the bolt down it is literally bending the rear plate of the U, the one which has a weld on the bottom.

Does BAMF intentionally use a wider channel/bracket to accommodate both 1st and 2nd gens?

This is all the way tight, you can see the bracket is at an angle and is not flush on the frame at all.

Bolt on sliders for a first gen?

also thats a nasty rust issue...

I thought all first gen sliders were weld on only.

Thats a huge gap either way... something is wrong there for sure.

I have weld on BAMF sliders and also had several QA/QC issues with measurements/cuts, etc.

I contacted Jerry and was a bit disappointed in his reply. But that's between me and him.

In the end, my sliders are welded on, so not much I can do, and they perform just fine. So I am fine with it.

that does not look right. my brackets are a very snug fit and I even had to use a jack and BFH to get them flush to the frame. Two of the brackets were slightly wider and the vertical plates do angle inward after bolted down but not a concern to me. Overall they fit great and have performed wonderfully.

looks like you might need to add some sort of spacer plate or something. Every U-channel is like this?

yea mine is exactly like that. i haven't had any problems i just made sure i tightened the shit out of the bolts.. Might want to also retorque the bolts after a week or so.. I was just thinking maybe put washers between the channel and the frame to make it so that the channel doesn't have to bend.. either way I'm not too concerned because if the bolts come loose its not like the sliders are just gonna fall off..

I have a 97 though and jerry won't make bolt on sliders for 95.5-97 tacomas anymore. only weld ons. they are just a little bit different than the 98-04's.

one thing you might also want to consider doing is loosening the bolts and pushing the brackets all the way up with a jack so the bottom of the channel is touching the bottom of your frame.

I got an idea, let's post pictures on the internet before even bothering to contact the vendor.
That should take care of it.

 what jberry said... I have weld on 2nd gen, so can't speak for your situation. I've sent Jerry a few questions and he has always responded promptly. I would give him a PM first

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
The brackets are made a little wider then the frame so they can be installed without beating them on but that doesn't look right that's wider then normal. The bolt on sliders are for 01+ trucks do you have a 2000 or below?

That 3rd pic and 4th don't look like factory gouges to me. Haven't ever seen on my frame.

    Those are factory.
I know my frame has no less than three of them on each side of the frame. It's how they line up the frame before it gets welded. The inside piece of the frame comes into contact with those puncture marks to stop it, and the weld it on the outside.
