Putting my reese hitch on was awful. Some of the bolts stripped going in and i had to go get new stainless ones and rethread the nuts that toyota so kindly welded to the frame. But it worked out. It is easier if you take the bumper off completely, take the brackets off, then put the hitch and brackets on then line up the rear bumper and tighten it down. I'm sure you can handle it

 

I can help you out either way. Come on down to Annapolis and we can do it in no time. I've got all the tools...and a MIG just in case.

when it rains it pours..... that plastic splash guard/wheel well liner on my front left fender came off and is rubbing on the tire.. i found this out when there was suddenly a screaming noise coming from that area rolling down 32.... any ideas on how it could have come undone?

 

Cut it with some tin snips. Got rid of mine when the new bumper went on

 

thats what im thinking, the only catch with that idea is im not really looking at replacement bumpers anytime soon, ill probably throw a grill guard on and mount the winch to that before i get a plate bumper....

Hey clay... whats the limit on your welder? can it do 1/4 6061-T651 Aluminum Plate?

 

I've got a mig...never welded aluminum with it, but I assume it can be dome.

 

Alright... Just trying to figure out what kind of welder is needed to do it.... I'm trying to replicate the same mount that Bensonx had, it seemed to work well for him, and it looks like its only gonna cost me 60 ish for the aluminum, just need to find a place to cut and weld it for me... I can't find a clear answer as to wether I need a tig or mig for aluminum
