Yes, sounds great and I would consider it, but looks like there's already 2 guys in line for them. I might shoot him a PM cause I can sell my wheels and only have to pay like $20 to buy his.

 

And the $80 is only for the wheels, tires are $40 each, not that I would need those.

Tell me about it. The guy is supposed to be showing up with my clutch moneys this Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed because I'll really be more comfortable at Hardrock if I know I got a new one coming.

Of course, then I have to eventually put the thing in which won't be any fun. Don't have a transmission jack and I'm not as powerful as I used to be. Last transmission I put in was a TH350 that I put on my chest, wheeled under the truck on a creeper and held it in place with brute strength while a buddy got a couple bell housing bolts started. That was about 15 years ago. Probably end up in the morgue if I tried that these days.

 

get nam or one of them to help you. yo drink the beer and watch them do the work

My mother has a 2004 nissan quest and its been getting this burning smell off and on for the past 2 years she says and ive experienced it with in the past few weeks. It smells like a burning belt or something of that nature, but i know it cant be a belt because if it was it wold have broken already, and she said she had the belts replaced when the smell first started coming around.

The smell seems to comes when your coming to a stop, doesnt matter if the ac is on or not, and it will happen even if you barely use the brakes. its not all the time but fairly often. 2 or 3 days a week after she gets home from work the garage smells like the burning odor.

I have no clue what it might be. any ideas?

Haha, yeah, that would be cool. I do plan on requesting aide from the locals when the time comes. No way I can see doing it by myself, especially if I don't have a t-jack. I can probably drop it, since it'll fall down a lot easier than it'll ever fall up , and get the new disk and p-plate installed so the help only has to assist in getting it hooked back up. That way werk won't interfere with the beer-drinking and BSing too much. Then I'll have to relearn how to drive the truck once it's all done.

Yeah, that would be a bit of a haul, but I appreciate the sentiment nonetheless.

 

You probably already thought of or know this, but with some help, a wide piece of plywood and floorjack a DIY clutch change can be easier. I am wih you though, I would not want to do the rest on belly and bench press in place thing anymore.

As for the Nissan, any clue what the odor smells like. Rubber burning or electrical. My first guess would have been maybe an idler pulley starting to lock up if it smells like a belt.

As a stupid idea, what about the vent blower motor or the resisters letting go.

Good luck on the clutch, should be simple and straight forward. I can say I would help and would but it is a bit of a drive.
