Yeah this one will only be like 2-2.5gal but I may be able to tie together a few more parts of the bumper and get nearly 5gal. Why is co2 better?

 

WAY WAY faster. No need to rely on electrical stuff. Always runs air tools. Fills tires..does it all..

What kind of pressure do you get into a co2 tank that makes it have enough to do all that?
Yeah there is one big section that I planned just for that. I am hoping I can just run a line from the air up kit on my arb compressor along the frame rail right to it then have a quick connect fitting on there. Not sure what the arb puts out, pressure wise.

 

250+ psi.

i could fill a 33x12.5r15 from 10psi to 32 in about 22-24 seconds.

no compressor can do that either.

If you get a variable regulator, you can turn it down to whatever you need to run air tool or 90psi for lockers.

im kinda surprised you haven't heard of this before..haha

That what i am going to do too..basically. It'll help a bit..but..not substantially.

 

Yeah I have seen plenty of people with the tanks but never really asked about them. Too bad I couldn't get someone to fill my bumper with co2, but I'm sure there are laws against filling a home made tank. I need to see what my big home compressor is capable of doing but regardless it will be better than just using my compressor, which takes like 5min/tire.

 

Just chuck some dry ice in it and call it a day

Earlier you said CO2 is WAY WAY faster.

A CO2 setup does have the advantage of higher stored energy so it should be faster. All I am saying is that saying way way might be a bit of an exaggeration.

So your setup does seem faster but the way way part is not yet documented.

I do think we should time how long each setup handles the identical circumstances. Bring your stop watch and gopro.

i say we do one or your tires with CO2 and one with Compressor..then same with mine..then 35 with co2 vs 33 and compressor.

Think i recall you saying takes you about 1:30 to do a tire? im willing to be it'll about 3x as fast. So under 30 seconds easy for one of your tires.

You are recalling incorrectly. It took about 45 seconds to go from 15 to 40. Not nearly as slow as you suggest

 

well considering i have never witnessed it myself i wasn't ever really sure...

How much use are you guys getting out of your co2 tanks? Or how many tires can you fill on a tank i should say?

Even though a good air compressor isn't quite as speedy i could see how it being under the hood/out of the way and not having to have it refilled could be convenient.
