    that is correct

I kinda see how Chris wants an AC since the cab is smaller for the trails, I know having the full 2nd cab in the back can be a pain sometimes. but I do love having the full 2nd cab though so much space even though its just me lol. I would def not mind getting a single cab or a double cab long bed and see how they perform. what would be sweet to get custom made, a single cab with a short bed...now talk about short wheel base there lol

I was confused by this, I know why Chris wants it makes perfect sense for an overlander. Plenty of bed space and enough cab space to keep things dry.

Sorry man, I really would not have much use for such a large cab and such a small bed. The thing about ACs is if something is too big to fit in the cab, it will fit in the bed. Can't say that about the DC because the bed is so small, relatively speaking.

You could keep the truck and tear down the drivetrain and do a performance rebuild on it and make it your play truck. My cousin did the same thing to his truck and did the buy back and bought a daily driver with the check and made his totaled one into a pretty sweet trail truck. Which he then sold with a rebuilt title for almost a profit!

I'm not far from you. If you find your self needing help with anything in the parting out just shoot me a PM or I can PM you my number I'm will to help with anything. I'm a mechanic part time so I could help you do the rebuild if you decide too also.

My 99 4runner was under water once. Don't do it! It might seem fine now but one by one things will start to quit, act funny, seize up. The electrical problems alone will drive you crazy, it's not worth the effort. I have to live with things like a psychotic climate control system and possessed power seats. Spend an afternoon trying to pull your truck out of the mud with a hi lift jack when every time you get out of the truck the seat moves all the way back and takes 5 minutes to move back to driving position lol. Doors, windows, locks, cable actuated things like gas door, ebrake and hood release that sporadically won't work, or never work. I just bought it as a woods beater but all the little problems added up make it extremely frustrating at times and I can't stand driving it anymore. It would cost me more than I payed for the truck to get every single thing working again. Not worth the effort.

That sucks but kind of funny, for the seat just set it where you want and unplug it? The climate control thing would really piss me off

Unplug that slippery little connector with 2" of mud on the floor and on my hands . It doesn't adjust itself very often otherwise I would unplug it. Also need to adjust it because the girlfriend cranks the seat up to the front, she drives it to work now. The climate control is retarded, you'll be driving down the road and all of a sudden the windows all instantly fog up. You have to either pull over and punch buttons till it switches back to fresh air mode, or just keep going, punch buttons, and hope nobodys in front of you. Not ideal in winter.

HAH I meant unplug it before you go out, mud makes everything a bitch. Just opening up the toolbox to get the boots with muddy hands sucks.

He could always wire the power for the seat to a switch. Leave it off when there is no need to adjust it, then turn on the power when the seat needs to be adjusted.

Now that is overkill for a bug that only shows up once and a while, but it would work.

The truck has more things wrong with it than just bring in an accident. Fogs don't work. Passenger window doesn't roll down. Rear window doesn't latch. It rode like shit. It's no wonder it's been for sale so long.
