what are you planning on using for a compressed air source?
that seems to be the track you're taking here, yes?

Wanted this since I was a kid anyway! I plan to use the compressed air source for air mattresses, cleaning/detailing the interior... Who knows what else. (Honking at prostitutes)

    Ah...;)
I wonder if a paintball gun CO2 canister would work, and if so, for how long?

I know guys that use CO2 to power their ARB air lockers.

    Good thought.

If a compressor is used just for the rear window, IMHO it's a waste of equipment. YMMV. ;)

I aslo would think the window would quickly slam open and closed using air.... unless adjusted (if capable) at both valves for slower release pressure.

I got these to adjust the speed and prevent a slam shut.

Several other components as well. There are dampened cylinders, but I went with the muffler. You guys can expect to see a full write up by the weekend.

Where did you mount the motor? Is it hidden?

The linear actuator looks like a long narrow box with a rod sticking out of it. You glue one end to the bottom of the window and attach the other end to the rear bulkhead via a bracket. It mounts low and ends up being hidden from the insdie by the seat. You can see it out the rear window, but you can minimize what you can see by painting the actuator housing black.

The FA-RMS-15-12-12 is much quieter. And the FA-35-S-12-12 is much faster and quieter, but it is more bulky, if you care about aesthetics.

I'm planning on doing this mod in the near future. I have one question, if you were to open the window, how can you open it if the latch is lock? Do you remove the latch and use the actuator as a locking device??

Read the thread, you can remove the latch, adjust the actuator position so that it stops before it latches, or wedge the latch open (I used a small black zip tie).

I know this thread is old, but I wired it all up and had it working great...problem is the actuator is too big to fit behind the seats! Any one know of a smaller (skinnier) actuator that will fit behind the seats? Was pretty excited when I had it working, but then went to total frustration when the rear seats would not lock back in haha

I did not - from what I can tell even if I was to remove them, the actuator sits on top of the storage. Any one else have an idea?

Did you buy a different actuator, or is this the same one reference in the OP?

FA-RMS-15-12-X was the model that I bought. The original part number that the OP bought is no longer available.

    Anyone done this recently?
