it obviously does bother you if youre changing your product and changing your business plan.

    BUT

we were all just giving our opinion on your product and im glad to see that you'll be going this route as it is one more selling point for your skids.

I'm changing it in hopes of selling more. Simple as that. But like I said it's going to cost more. I'm in the $300 range now. I would much rather leave it and move on to another project for business sake. I didn't change my business plan except in this skid because if I make it the new way, there isn't anything on the market like it since I'm pretty sure lil skip doesn't make a tacoma skid.

If it were me I'd offer both. That's just me though, in the time I've spent in sales I've learned you can't please everybody and advise needs to come from people you trust.

there comes a point where people will pay a little more for quality, and the people who actually use there skids will appreciate it

I'm considering this as well. The general skid would be the same. I'm creating a strap that doesn't replace the tank strap, but allows the skid to be completely separate from the tank. It would bolt through the side flanges.

And to go along with your last sentence, this was not influenced by anyone here. A person with the appropriate background that I've used in all my design decisions gave me the idea before I even designed this. I chose to go the cheaper route first. And if y'all think I don't think of everything before I throw a product out there, you're dead wrong. That's why it takes time to come up with new things. I seek advice from people I know know something, not people on the Internet. I work with plenty of professional engineers and doctors in the manufacturing field that know more than I do.

You're aware that most of these "people on the internet" may not have experience in design but do have first hand experience is using products and knowing what does and doesn't work right? Not everything will work the same on a computer as it does in actual use. If you don't listen to your customers than you're not going to get far.

I love it when the web wheelers come out and argue. Definitely funny stuff. So reading through the garbage about the RAT gas tank skid..... I'm not going to comment on any individuals or the products.

BUT, the two bolts that everyone is complaining about....you do realize they are virtually impossible to get hung up on? The front ones are up and out of the way. The rear ones that have the bolt heads hanging below the skid plate are far enough to the rear of the skid that if you're worried about dragging those on the rocks, you need to learn to pick better lines through obstacles. Because even if you do drag that part of the skid, it just means that whatever you just dragged over is going to hit your rear axle and you won't be going anywhere.

Completely retarded arguement IMO. But what do I know? I'm not a real fabricator, not an engineer and don't ever wheel my junk.
