Bed rail caps rubbing paint

    I have a Tonneau cover which is making my bed rails flex causing them to rub my paint off, down to the frigging metal.
    Anybody else have this problem?

    Yeah, i don't have a problem like this but I have heard of many having this issue. Some even have rust under the caps. Maybe put some film on the body or weather stripping under the caps. Don't really know though.

    That helicopter tape sounds like some tough stuff. Never heard of it before. Sounds like it might do the trick. Thanks!
    Of course still open to other ideas.....anybody else have this problem and have a fix for it?

    That would work too...I'm just worried if it lifted the cap at all the touch up scar will show. But, I guess if the cap snaps into place, it will be in the original position, just no more flexing. Decisions decisions....

    Maybe try some 3m automotive 2 sided tape? It would help to both keep the plastic off the paint and hold the plastic steady so it won't rub.
