Knew there had to be one in the region somewhere. AWESOME!

    x2

 Guess you're a happy Weesa now. :)
Same story here...both grandpups were here with everyone else; Bear is worn out and about to fall asleep at my feet now. ;)

Hey Brandan, nice day with the family I hope. :)

Yup! :) SEVEN mooseses this weekend...and I think maybe 2 of them were the boys that I saw fighting last fall and the one liked me a little too much...

Almost saw a wreck today too....the 2nd moose sighting was along the highway on the way home. There's a big pullout and there was probably 6 or so vehicles in there including a sheriff's deputy (I guess even on duty they get to stop and watch the animals). Well one of the vehicles pulled out onto the highway without looking for traffic...this Ford truck was doing 60 and was on top of them in a second. We were all watching the moose and then heard the truck's brakes lock up and start skidding. The car veered off of the far side of the road to avoid the truck. I told the deputy that it was a good thing he was there (thinking if they had collided) and he said something like "well a lot of damn good it does, people just don't pay attention"

kinda scary. they're being extra cautious after the WA slide. The bad thing is, aside from people's homes being torn apart, is that at the base of that hill is the main highway through town. That road gets a lot of traffic because Grand Teton Park is so close and even on a slow day in the summer it can be bumper to bumper. Can't wait to see what its going to be like this summer if they have to detour all of the tourist traffic!

How's your weekend going besides the puppy sitting?

 on the moose. Been thinking, the calves don't usually start showing up here until the middle of May IIRC. Really glad you had a good weekend.

How'd you manage w/o smores and twinkle lights.

Crazy on the almost wreck. I'm sure you remember how crazy the Seward Hwy gets up here with RVs and tourists stopping for the wildlife sightings. It's downright scary at times.

great day today. Not puppy sitting this time. But both Mitch/Meghen & Robert/Jen brought their dogs along for Easter dinner and festivities here. Bear and them had as much fun playing together as the grandkids did hunting eggs, playing with the cool bubble guns Kristi got them, etc.

BTW ... Halibut Weaver and plank grilled Salmon were part of the day's fare. DELICIOUS. :hungry:

No babies yet here either - soon though. I saw a moose family - a cow, last year's calf and a bull - hanging out yesterday. No buffalo or elk calves either.

It was rough without my twinkly lights and smores....next time I'll have them for sure!

Yep, the highway does lead into the park but its still a highway and major trucking route which most people don't realize. They were lucky it was a pickup and not a semi truck.
Last year there was a grizzly along that same road and I had stopped and pulled over as far as I could and this guy stopped just after me. Next thing you know 3 little kids bail out of the car and run across the highway without looking  I told him that he needed to keep his kids corralled because I didn't want to see one of them become a hood ornament for a semi. He just gave me one of those "mind your own business" looks

    :hungry: mmmm....I miss fresh 'but

When they were leaving, I told the kids to take what they wanted of the leftovers. Robert replied, "i already packed up what was left of the Halibut."

Sounds like the same highway we saw a grizzly when we were up there. Is that the highway that cuts through the northwest corner of the park?

Kristi just expressed the same sentiment yesterday. :sorry:

    Mornin' Adam.

That is a steady state condition for me. ;)

Hiya Brandan. Got your holiday recovery day planned out?

First the smores supplies; and now coffee?

You needs to execute a resupply action plan.

 Well I have plenty of coffee, just not Kona coffee. That stuff's expensive! And Cody won't do a group buy for it.
