I've got a 97 Tacoma 4x4 5speed 2.7l that has no powersteering. I've put 2 new pumps on a new rack and nothing. It has power steering when the wheels are off the ground but as soon as it hits the ground its gone. Idk what's wrong. I'm guessing the high pressure hose is messed up. I did clean the resvoir already twist and found black in it. So idk someone help me plz

I have 99 tacoma and dealing with power steering issues. There are some videos on bleeding the system and a post about taking apart the reservoir to thoroughly clean the internal screen. Definitely clean the hoses, check them and make sure the pump does not run dry at all when you start it up.

thanks for the update. i actually took the oem reservoir apart and used a pic to remove all the filter screen material in the bottom of the reservoir. the inside of the reservoir was caked with black "scum" which i managed to clean out with two cans of brake cleaner. i took before/after pictures that i will upload in a couple of days. i will try to write up a description of how i did everything once i post pictures.
