Thanks! I tried a few HDR shots from the other side but there was a fair amount of wind so the leaves ended up just looking blurry, which was too bad.
Good suggestion with the sunset colors! Maybe I'll go check it out sometime during the week...don't wanna walk in on anyone's party...

    :woot: :humble:
    Thank you! :D
    pm'ing Monte now...

Thanks Murph for the comments and the follow on flickr. Yes it was an HDR.

    Congrats Kevin, nice shot!

    Okay need challenge!

Steel and no post processing. Anytime. Anyplace.

You may still add a water mark and of course concert it to jpeg. Other then that no post processing is allowed! In camera functions are all fair game!

Im on my phone so OP will be updated later this afternoon

    What haven’t I changed?
This is going to be an interesting one since it basically has to all be done in-camera. Now I just need to find a subject....

Yeah that was the idea. I wanted to do a technique challenge versus a subject-only challenge, but to narrow it down a bit the subject is "steel", too.
I think it'll be neat to see what settings people use to bring up different effects.
Can't wait to see the results!

Nice challenge! The guys with the more consumer end camera's will have an advantage this time with all the effects they add to those camera's. Maybe……….:D

Now, off to find some steel.

Yeah, unless you have a lower end consumer camera. Then the in-camera isnt so much...

Well, mine is the upper end of the spectrum and there isn't a thing in it I've ever had the desire to use.

Yay to the guys that bought the middle of the road.

Where's that Nikon Hacks in camera Photoshop when you want it. lol

    Congrats Kevin and great job!!

Steel... Dang it wish I was back in San Diego on 32nd street, lots of steel targets.

Saturday I took a picture quite a ways from here of a house that defined urban decay right at sunset. Then someone turned a light on inside, had no idea that someone could even live in that place, and I realized that it was inhabited by someone that likely thought it was his castle no matter what it looked like. I couldn't bring myself to post it out of respect, and did not have any other opportunities.

it's either going to be really good or really bad for me this week. I'm terrible at editing so most of my stuff comes right off the camera with minor tweaks. I ussually just slide bars around till it looks good to me:eek:

With a lot of the new mirrorless cameras you can completely PRE-process your jpegs, like Tone Curve, Color, B&W, whatever. Ha

I really like the idea of no post processing though. Can't try and "save" that shot that was so-so with some nifty PS skills ha

Looking forward to this one. Hmm, how to do "STEEL" in a unique way . . .
