    yep, we went to his gallery in Zion. He is my all time favorite landscape photographer! He has done so many awesome photos on the reservations down there! Places most people will never be able to see. Man now you got me wanting to get back down to zion area bad!

    How would one change springs such that they give the same ride height and different arch? They go hand in hand unless you change shackle length, shackle pivot location, go to spring under, or go back to inverted shackles.
    The real answer here is to go back to inverted shackles. You keep the same ride height but have more bump travel. But alas, everyone seems to want their droopy-droop without regard for the consequences. :jerkoff:

    I've learned that up travel and rock crawling don't go so well together unless you have some really tall tires... Up travel = loss of ground clearance. My ride height is about the same with the DMZ kit as it was with the stock leaf packs and an AAL but I get hung up a lot more because I don't have bump stops to stop me from from squatting down onto those rocks...

    That's why Silas's rig crawled so well. No up travel and a whole lot of droop on 37's.

    yea right now i'm set for mostly down travel...normally the trails i go on, aren't high speed where up travel is as important as i needed when i hit that rut in the desert..

    i get all the travel out of the 11" shocks, probably 8 down 3 up (shock travel) ...even less up when loaded down

    pretty sure its hard to get best of both worlds ya know?im in the same boat, more droop than compression. but im more like 4 and 6 or so

    would air bumps actually help? wouldn't they be damn near contacting at ride height? then slowly resist as u further compress upwards? would it still ride harsh?

    I wasn't trying to preach uptravel for high speed. It was for suiting your expo needs. Shit is heavy. Heavy shit compresses suspension. Compressed suspension limits bump travel.

    Goes back to building the truck to suite your needs. It's hard to be a master of all domains. Expert status in one region normally means suffering in another. You chose shackle flip which gives you droop to help with crawling, but obviously at the sacrifice of high speed and expo capabilities. If I had your truck with your needs/wants (at least as far as I understand them), I would go back to an inverted shackle in a heart beat.

    could get some 4"+ daystar bumps and mount them up top and cut off the mount on the plates, or get fresh plates and ubolts

    new wheelers are 2 9/16" and the mount was 1.5" i believe...cut the wheelers down 3/4" maybe? that'll give me more rubber to compress versus half mount half rubber

    someone needs to come up with a better inverse shackle mount option..

    not sure how, but something to increase strength of the mount, bolt up , and magically help travel numbers :D
