Yeah I just looked through his build again and saw where we had talked about spacing the front and rear hangers 58 1/2" apart to get a good angle. You should measure yours eye to eye to humor me lol

And my front eye to creeper eye is 58.5....so why mine is worse? No clue. I have To make it around 59.5 or 60

And weird, neither one of us actually used that measurement but going off what he did and the angle he got we had talked about 58.5 being a good starting point. How far forward did you move your hangers?

 

I actually don't know how far forward. I marked the center pin with a plum bob and cut. The wheel is centered where it was almost exactly.

The first time i put the bed on and the angle didnt change, I put the bed in the second time and the angle got worse. So as the angle gets smaller weight seems to effect it more is my guess.

 

Gotcha. The big difference between mine and Silas' is that he moved his 7.5" forward and I moved mine 8.5" forward. Did you already clean your frame rail where the old hanger was?

 

Hmm. I can go try to see where the old front hanger was. It's cut off but there are still some frame scabs. Could the different location of his front and my front cause the weight distribution to effect the angle differently?

 

I don't think it would because the distance between the front spring eye and and the center pin never changes. The only thing the position of the front hanger effects is the axle location (if you were leaving stock shackle hangers and shackles the angle would be changed too but that doesn't matter bc you're changing it all).

 

eh, thats what i figured.

maybe its just because hes bobbed and there is less weight out back pushing down on the leafs therefore he was able to get away with the measurement where as for me ride height is flatter

 

True, but he also has his bumper welded to the frame so he might actually be heavier.

 

Man so I ordered some king shocks on Friday and just got off the phone with them and wow I'm impressed by their customer service. They made sure everything is right and I can tell already I will be satisfied with these shocks.

 

I have a hitch, which I guarantee is heavier than his square tube bumper, he also cut part of the frame off too, so more weight shed
