Question for the '09s

My uncle just got a '09 Sport in Pyrite Mica yesterday. He loves it so far, but I talked to him today and he said his A/C light stays on all the time, unless you turn the temp selector to hot or unless you turn the fan completely off. It doesn't go off when you press it. I searched for this but didn't really see anything. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone have any thoughts about what it could be?

 

check and see if the temp selector is all the way down on cold. If so, bump it up one notch up, that setting is automatic super cold a/c setting.

One other random question about the 09 Tacomas. Is there a way, when you are in the truck and turn the ignition off to make the interior lights go on before you open the doors???? In my F150, when you turn the ignition off, and before you open the doors, the interior light would go on automatically so you can see what the hell you are doing.

 

I know what your talking about but never heard of any Tacoma owner that has tried anything.

 

I just find it annoying- its dark out, you are parking your truck, turn it off, take the keys out of the ignition, and its dark as hell and you can't see what the heck you are doing because there are no lights! I know you can push the light button manually, but I thought the truck may do it automatically and I'm just missing it??? I mean, if my 05 F150 did this, come on!

I just... crack the door a bit myself... Then again I live in AZ where cold weather is a non issue.

 

I do not travel enough at night to have an issue with it though I just figured out that... when you cut off the vehicle and you have the light adjustment switch that is on the ceiling next to the light set to door- all the way over toward the passenger side then click the lock button on the remote attached to your key ring and then click the unlock button. this will cut the light on in the truck.
I know that when I click the unlock on the remote at night to get in the truck the light in the truck cuts on so that made me think of it. I tried to just click unlock on the remote right after cutting the truck off but it did not cut the light on, only clicking lock first and then clicking unlock did it.

then when I got out and shut the door the light went out immediately afterward. it seems that in this situation clicking the remote would be easier than cutting the light on from the dash console because most people are always clicking the remote and are more used to the functions of it and can easily click them in the dark

2009 models have a gm climate control system so full the to left (cold) means max A/C. one notch -click-turn up deactivates max ac

There's still a recirc button on the 09's. But yes, max A/C does automatically turn on the recirc.

 

you mean the "automatic super cold a/c setting" turns on the recirc.
