    Just let the axle float on jackstands or something while you get the leafs on.

    That's what I was thinking but will the bolt still be able to seat in the hole in the axle if it is 1" forward?

    Yeah, you'll have just have to move the axle forward or backward depending on where the bolt on the leafs is at.

    The axle is centered by the leaf springs...not the other way around.

    Dakars are also known for moving the axle forward. You might look into getting some axle relocation plates to move it back .75'' or 1'' if you want.

    33x12.50 Pro Comp M/T's All-Pro Coils, UCA and 3" leafs.
    Isn't the axle a little off in consideration to the wheel opening? Thought I read where folks where using plates to relocate the pins to center the wheels up so they wouldn't rub? Are the wheels located a little towards the front or back before relocation?

    I just set the axle on top of the spare and all I had to do was a buddy and I kick the tire around to get it lined up.

    Its tends to be more of a prominent issue in 01-04s with dakars. Usually pulls it a bit too forward. But yes, the plates just move the point where the leaf center pins goes in. So you can move it back or forward.

    Ultimately, need to figure out how your axle sits with the leafs you have and decide from there which way to move it.
