so I've got a 96 taco with the 2rz that is all bone stock. got it from i guy and it had been sitting for 2 years, i have replaced the fuel pump and strainer, fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and MAF sensor after all that it ran pretty good, then i changed the radiator hoses and thermostat and flushed the motor and radiator out with the hose and sprayed off the motor, i had washed the motor before and had no problems, got it all back together and now it barely runs, sounds like it is missing real bad, its been sitting for a few days now and everything is dried out and still the same prob, i took all connector apart and sprayed them with WD40 and no difference, anybody have any suggestions?

In a dark garage, mist water over the coils. Look for arcing. Replace any coil that arcs.
When it runs rough, unplug, one at a time, then plug in, each fuel injector. The one that doesn't change the RPM is the culprit.

Mist the coils, regardless of the location. You're looking for spark leakage.

It's where the center wire on the cap goes to.
I missed that you have a distributor. There is only one coil.

I just looked at an example. It looks like the coil is built into the distributor.

so i doubt that is the issue i took the cap off and blew it all dry, it runs pretty good in the higher rpm range still a bit rough but smooths out some

Try unplugging one injector at a time, to rule out the injectors. The one that you unplug, that doesn't affect RPM, is bad.
If unplugging them changes RPM on all cylinders, it's not the injectors.
