    Hey Guys,

    I need some help.

I have a 2013 TRD Sport non EnTune and was wondering if their is some type of way where i can switch the rear view camera from the back up mirror to the touch screen?

I feel like the camera there displays to much of a small picture and would benefit allot more if it was on the bigger touch screen monitor.

    thanks in advance,
    luis

I got a kit from eBay. It works fine - one side simply plugs into a specific 'unused' connector on the back of the OEM radio (non-JBL, no Entune.) The other side goes to the fusebox and connects to two connectors: the Camera connector, and another connector that has the reverse wire connection. The kit includes everything you need.

There are also some articles and posts here too but I chose to use the 'kit' because it was clean and 100% reverse-able.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-13-Toyot...t=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item4acd966ba7&vxp=mtr

    Little pricey tho...

BTW, I promptly removed my stock radio and installed an aftermarket unit so I can't remember if the 'guide lines' (the colored lines in the video that indicate some kind of distance) show up on the radio's monitor. I seem to recall that disconnecting the camera left the guide lines showing on the rear-view mirror and not on the radio. That leads me to believe the lines are created by the mirror and not the camera. In any case, you can disable the mirror's display so it won't show them when you are in reverse.

thats not pricy...the pins from toyota each are like $11 each...the plug another $10 so in the end its about the same price if you where to make it on your own over buying one made.

op id buy that and install it. super easy ive installed 3 for people

I have it in my '13 non-entune and I love it... as long as you don't mind losing the grid which doesn't bother me. 1 hour install, pretty easy job, and as mentioned, completely reversible.

Anyone know the part numbers (or where I can find the part numbers) for the connectors at the fusebox? Specifically both the male and female camera connectors? I want to make an extension and tap into that for video (and thus not cutting any wires) :D

Does anyone know if this harness would work for my jbl and entune stereo?

I can't say for sure. The eBay listing doesn't mention working or not working with the JBL system. It also just shows a picture of the 'basic' non JBL no entune radio. Maybe you can ask the seller if it does, and if they say yes, and it doesn't, you can send it back?

Just wanted to show the ebay harness in action. I work at a car dealer so a tech installed it. After doing the first one he said it would only take 10-15 minutes on the next one so really easy. You lose the backup guide lines so be aware of that if it matters but otherwise it is great having in the screen. The mirror does not go blue for 2 seconds as I have seen mentioned before7F7969EE-9F26-4610-8690-D8FE249068F1_69cd7b554028d2edf6b7a5187618c0d7cee06b13.jpg

The instructions for the kit say you can disable rear view mirror's screen from the mirror's menu so that one doesn't see the blue screen - I bet your tech disabled the mirror's display.

No it does not... you could do that it you wanted, but it is advised not to. I was told that displaying in both would greatly reduce the video quality.

During the install, you unplug the mirror camera behind the dash and you splice into the backup enable wire. Because you do this, the mirror display has no input or even a signal to light up.... it never turns blue, not even for a second.

Transition back up image from mirror to touchscreen radio!
You change from the mirror to the dash and you will not have the guidelines anymore.
