So I've got a newb question that's driving me crazy. Can I add new coils (OME) to my 5100's? I want to lower my 5100's from the top 2.5 setting to .85 and use coils to give me the lift up front. I keep reading OME is not compatable with 5100's but then I read the complete opposite during my next research.:notsure:

You can run 884's and 885's with no problem. (my old setup) You can also run 886's, but some do not recommend since it is a heavier and longer coil than 5100's are meant to run with. I wouldn't worry about putting them on though because one member (BradyT88) had 5100's and 886's and he put them through serious abuse (dune jumps, etc) and had no problems. I have seen others who have the same setup and have had no problems.

OME just doesn't recommend it since they only want you to pair their coils with their shocks.

yes you can run them on the 5100's the OME website or might be toytec, recommends the 884s for single and access cabs. 885s for double cabs and 886s would be for double cabs with a front bumper. so if you added a front bumper you would want 885s

Honestly, I would just get the 886's if you ever planned on getting bumper/winch/skids/sliders. Ride might be a little rough but would be better than swapping out coils twice.

Good deal. Thanks a bunch guys! I think I will go with 885's. I don't plan on adding too much weight since I've only got a 4 banger. Really appreciate it!
Can I just order the springs or do I need other stuff too?

If i knew then what i know now, i wouldnt have done it. Nothing wrong with it, ive wheeled hard multiple times over the past 3 years and have had no side affect, but cant justify the benefit from it.

Chunky, I have that set of King front coils if you're interested. I'd recommend those over the OME, not just because I have them in my garage but, I went from a OME suspension to King and it was a drastic improvement.

These guys are literally new, I had to replace them with the 700lb version since my front is heavy, bumper, winch, dual batteries, skid, etc.

The bottom hinge on my passenger door is groaning/squealing. What kind of grease do I apply to that to shut it up?

Mines been doing that for months. The bottom hinge is actually broken now and the bottom corner of the door hits the inside.

Can't use king coils with 5100's because the spring is flat on both ends. The 5100 seat follows the coil of the spring and won't work with a flat end. Have to have a fox/king/icon coilover for it to work.

I was under the impression that on the 5100s you could use a different seat or clip the spring on Icons or Kings?

Maybe so. Haven't heard of that but it might be the case.
